Buying from the US help please!

Hi guys after a bit of help please, looking at buying an item from the states value is just over £200 does anybody know how much I'll get charged in tax on that?, the seller is quite happy to put down a low value but then I guess I'm not insured if anything goes wrong. Any advice would be welcomed. Cheers Ian

It sounds to me that your not happy with a low valuation being put on the parcel? When I have been charged import tax from the US it has been about 20% of the value. At the end of the day it's up to you if you want to risk it or not. What are the chances of something happening?

Sorted it thanks gone for the low value option. Like you say hopefully nothing will go wrong!!
