Boy it's quiet on here now

My Star Wars collecting has slowed down a lot this year so not picking that much up at the moment. I wanted an esb moc FX-7 and any of the esb bounty hunters but to no avail. I didn't even buy anything on the last vectis star wars auction.šŸ˜

The toy of the week thread is cool and i try to post and contribute on items posted in there if I have them or not.šŸ‘

It's a shame its gone quiet, I've seen a lot of members aren't posting anymore, I do think life gets in the way but I'm no quiter so will be around for a while šŸ¤˜

it's certainly missing the oooh arrr banter on here now, that's what we need
I do have the occasional old school forum moment, I do worry if that may put people off though, as those that haven't experienced it previously may not get (or appreciate) the humour. I struggle to be professional at work, and our area is literally called "professional services" šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

This is now the only forum I post on, for what that is worth :)
You can never have too many toys, but I think most folks here have pretty much everything, or certainly a volume of stuff they could ever want, how long have most of us 'oldies' been collecting? which means less for sale and less of interest for sale on the vintage side and the modern threads are the domain of a smaller number (Me included).

I also susspect the newer folks aren't as into the random chat that us older folks are, like you say they may not get our humorous view on the world :)

Anyway - for what it is worth I'll keep posting away as bits and bobs come in and things I think are worth sharing - looking forward to 'showing-off' images of The Ghost in a few weeks........ I hope.....

You're just of a generation that is now seen as "out of their time" and are very misunderstood.šŸ˜”šŸ¤”šŸ˜‰

Yes the old forum banter maybe a little much for some but those were fun days with the forum at it's peak, I do miss a lot (but not all) the banter, I do hope the forum can stay active as the years pass, as you say (theforceuk) it would be horrid to see all the useful info on here lost, I've experienced that 1st hand with a marine forum I used to help out on, I had a lot of D.I.Y plan threads on that which have been lost forever now sadly.

I'm another who hs never used social media, just isn't for me. I'll agree it's sad the way things have gone.

At least there are still people talking here, unlike the graveyards that are RS and the Imperial Gunnery.

imperial gunnery, now that's a name (and you know the rest, you even did the voice)

IG was great, but that died out a long time ago.

RS I never really bothered with šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Wow both the other forums even quieter than here Emiel? sort of shocking how it's totally changed, I do fear social media will be the death of the forums & it's nothing to be happy about, FB & such will all fizzle out eventually & you can't post anything on them that's not gone in a week, we do really need forums for being able to find good information as well as being a community hub

I do miss the old old old forum, from 15yrs ago, but we have all grown up since then. Kids, wives, life in general meaning sitting on a forum chatting to random strangers is less of a viable option than it was back then. A lot of names have come and gone on this place over the years, such is the way. Some still lurk, some moved on to other places (FB or TIG) some probably just drifted away from collecting. I suspect a few are probably in prison for crimes involving animals (joke).

I'll bump the worst sexual experiences thread, that is always a funny read.

Ohh and @Frunkstar you know you can quote multiple messages in one post? You don't need to reply to them all individually.
Click quote and the quoted post will appear in your text box, reply as you want, then move the curser down a line or two to make it legible and hit quote on the next post you want to reply to and it will appear.

That must be a first, god knows how many years on here, 15, 20? and I've just said something useful!

I know I know, but I was to techno shy to try, seems easy enough though so thanks for the pointers, now what am I to do about bumping my post count :ROFLMAO: I'm so standoffish with anything unfamiliar techy wise, but I'll remember it now (I think)

Boosting your post count? Having spent an hour last night trawling through old threads on here and reminiscing, it seems pretty clear talking utter bollocks seems to help!
Film, football, women, life, you name, spout rubbish almost continuously and hey presto!

Whatever happened to TIG? I remember when it started and a good few from here moved over. It always seemed a bit obsessed with variants for my liking. Did they all realised that a "slightly raised but not as raised as a 'raised bar,' no COO" Klaatu is just the same as any other ****ing Klaatu, or was there a falling out?

I used to be a regular on Rebelscum and CollectStarWars forums back in the 90s.
CSW changed names and went all modern, and i never went back. RS did the same too.. although i have logged into their forums once or twice over the last 5 or 6 years, and its a wasteland.
All the more important to keep this place alive and active.

There was a Tantive forum at some point in the last few years as well, haven't seen or heard anything about it for ages though
