Did anyone see this in respect of the Sea World killer whale situation.

I watched it last night and found it really upsetting and disturbing to watch.

Again the business and profit model, versus animal welfare

I know that the deaths of trainers is a terrible thing and really upsetting, but the " cover up" that seems to have Been the case by Sea World is unacceptable as they have been putting staff in pressurised positions, that were totally unsafe.

In respect to the whales themselves, I found the scene where the mother was calling desperately for the calf they had taken from it, absolutely harrowing to watch and it really disturbed me

The best thing is to get the education out there, publicise this, and create a drop in demand for the shows, that is the only way, combined with pressure from wildlife authorities and charities

These killer whales are magnificent creatures, and amazing to see in the wild, leave it to the documentary makers to show us these animals in their majesty in the wild, and stop treating them like circus freaks!

I have to say there are so many things in the world that need to be addressed and poverty and suffering, but this programme really made me think, and profoundly affected me, to the extent that I will definitely be looking to sign any petition I can, and will follow the progress of the court case, lets hope decency and common sense prevail and these magnificent creatures afford the protection they deserve and freedom

I'm going to watch Free Willy tonight :!:

I didn't see the documentary, Mike- I've got to agree with you, though; leave them in their natural habitat and look at them through a camera lens if need be.
