I just looked into sending something weighing 5Kg to the US but airmail small packet rates stop at 2Kg and it seems the only way that it can be sent is with Parcelforce Worldwide - even their economy rate is about £46 :shock:

You can insure and get tracking but the price increase is quite dramatic, they also deliver it quicker using these methods.

The £46 above was for basic no insurance (apart from standard insurance) and no tracking. With tracking it is £71 or £66

There must be a way of doing it cheaper with another carrier - but I've no experience of using them. I'm only trying to help someone out so if I can't find a cheap way of getting 5Kg to the US then I don't have to.
