I absolutely agree. Yes, there was some bad CGI (the army ants in particular), and some cringe worthy acting here and there (mostly from Karen Allen), but watching it on its own, the story was original and the style of action reminded me of the originals. At least it didn't take the cheap route and basically redo the original with new characters and settings.

I personally believe the "fun" has been lost from films like the original because of our politically correct culture now. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing that society is becoming more racially/sexual-orientation aware, but, well, you know![]()
Sacha Baron Cohen. I believe he is the saving grace of good old adult humour, and giving a big FU to PC. Borat remains the single funniest film since the turn of the century.
I certainly agree though that PC has taken the fun out of comedy. Any attempt at satire is branded as either racism or sexism. Bullshit.
