Ok prepare yourselves for a starwars related question!

I have several boxes from the various vehicles that I own, however they are all up the loft at the moment, whats the best way to store these?

Do i leave them as they are, open to the elements and "made up"? OR do i flatten them and put them into one of those storage boxes? OR Do i flog them on ebay?

flog them - unless they're stored well or displayed, they just deteriorate

I have a couple of vehicles in the loft, a shuttle and a b wing.
They still have the toy in the box. I have placed these boxes in bigger boxes then put them in bin liners.

I checked recently to see if they were ok and they appeared to be the same condition as when i first put them up there. Probably a better way but this seems to work for me ok..

don't know about your loft Peter, but mine really sufffers from heat in the summer and cold in winter. I found that some of the plastic was becoming brittle, and things like the foot pegs on my ewok village broke off

Also a lot of things went yellow. The boxes fared better but the extemes of temperature wont do them any good in the long term

some do - I've sold a tatty pal TIE and a DV TIE box for £10 each. A bi-logo TIE Int box just sold for similar

Bollux,

Most lofts are freezing in winter and roasting in summer. I think the loft is the worst place to leave any collectible.

Only my opinion.

Cheers.

Grant.

So............I dont plan on selling them BUT they are worth more with the boxes!

I only display them loose and like them that way too.

However I love the artwork on the boxes.....I am stuck on what to do!

Bollux,

Buy MISB examples and sell that loose items.

Cheers.

i have no room for MISB and certainly nowhere near the funds!

I have only ended up with the boxes by accident as i only intended to collect loose ones

You feeling alright mate!?

I actually have loads of stuff boxed up in my loft (none of it graded), and the temperature in there goes up and down wildly in summer and winter. Guess I need to look at storing everything somewhere else now!

Some day, someone will ask a question (maybe even a SW related one) and I will be able to help!
Until then...................

I have seen boxed AFA items in plastic storage boxes in some peoples lofts that have had condensation on the outside of the AFA boxes which were inside the storage boxes so this made me totally rethink my storage facilities.

Good luck mate.
