Best 3 Bond movies?

I seem to be alone in my dislike of Man with the Golden Gun, maybe I should give it another chance as I haven't watched it in ages.

No mention of Thunderball or Octopussy yet, I thought Thunderball would make someone's list?

I've been collecting the James Bond car collection - that's the ones that were in the news agents a few years back - they are bloody brill. Will need to post pics at some point

They have a collection of original Bond vehicles on display at the London film museum in Covent Garden. It's pretty cool. 8)

I love Thunderball - geez I love all the early ones really

"Wait till you get to my teeth" love it

All the early ones are good, Goldfinger has probably been overplayed but its still a classic. Thunderball is a great one too - the Connery ones are all iconic of that time. 8)

Diamonds Are Forever is perhaps his weakest one, also when watching it now as an adult it grates me he came back to do it purely for the money. Still better than A View To A Kill though!

The first 3 Moore ones are great but Moonraker certainly was a drop in quality, For Your Eyes Only was the best one of his last 4 - Moonraker, FYEO, Octopussy and AVTAK.

Whats everyone's thoughts on Connery's unofficial Never Say Never Again? Its ok, just not the same - no Bond theme, different Q and Mr Bean in it!

Totally agree there.

It's alright haven't watched it in ages though. (will need to give it a whirl again)

Unofficial Bond of course - the rights of Thunderball (of which this is a remake) were owned by Kevin McClory and broccoli I think

notice there was no 007 reference in that movie either.

and what a bout casino royale with David Niven???

I hate the 1967 Casino royale, what a mess. Any film with 5 directors and you know you're in trouble. "But it beat Austin Powers to the punch by 30 years" people say. True, but at least the Powers films were clever and funny, this is a steaming pile of dogshit, not funny at all and an insult to James Bond.
Maybe I'm missing the point and need to lighten up a bit, but it's just so bad it pains me to even think about it, let alone watch it....

Haha  , haven't seen that for a lonnnggg time! It was done as a spoof so maybe it has more in common with Austin Powers? Those films sent up Bond big time!

i heard before he died Kevin Mclory was still trying to get another thunderball remake done. Talk about flogging a dead horse. Think he lost the rights at the end though.

Totall agree guys

Didnt know McClory was wanting another remake

Cash tills registering in his mind me thinks

Thunderball is one of the weakest early Bond films, I find it quite boring in parts.

Octopussy - was the first Bond Film I saw in at Cinema, came out the same year as ROTJ. I was really disappointed Octopussy didn't have eight arms like I remember the promotional Cinema poster implies - showing her with numerous arms.

I don't get the love for AVTAK, that Stacey character makes it unwatchable.

i think craig is the worst bond good actor but theyve made recent bond films too serious imo. theyve lost the cheeky fun

Totally agree with this last 3 have been good films but just not proper Bond IMO.

Love Bond and very hard to pick favourites. Fave Bonds are Connery and Moore, prefer Connery as Bond but prefer Moores films, prob cos I'm a kid of the late 70's and 80's.
The man with the golden gun
The spy who loved me
Live and let die or Moonraker
My wife got me the complete box set of all the films a couple of years ago. Watch them all the time :D

having watched intruders tonight i think clive owen would make a good bond

He was touted for Bond at some point - think after Brosnan

With your new Sig pic Chaz it looks like you meant Sid James was touted as Bond at some point

my faves are.....

1)on her majestys secret service

2)live and let die

3)the living daylights

there are so many good bits and classic lines though in lots of them.
i also have a soft spot for dr. no (that bit with the hair over the door was genius)
octopussy (when he gives the two restaurant owners money when they help him out and moore goes "that'll keep you on the curry for awhile)
never say never again is a guilty pleasure of mine, the fight at the beginning, the bad acting, and the weird battleship game plus random kim basinger in it.

i was annoyed that dalton didnt go on longer as i thought he was an excellent bond.
not a fan of pierce brosnan at all but goldeneye is very good!
