Back home in one piece...(although there was a casualty)

Welcome back to the UK mate. Glad the journey wasn't too bad for Emma - babies are pretty resilient. I think we find the journey more stressful than they do. Once you've done it once and got used to all the extra luggage it gets easier. Sorry to hear about the damage to your some of your collection. Thats one thing I would worry about if I was ever to return to Australia with the wife. Let me know when you get yourself settled and hope to catch you for a beer in town one day soon.

Nothing worse than flying with young kids. Can be a bloody nightmare. Especially if they are a bit crook.
My kids have thrown up all over the country.

Hi Joe! Welcome back to the UK mate. Glad to hear all your famly are home safe and sound :) Its a really Bummer about that Cromalin mate! The damage sounds pretty bad too :( Hope you manage to claim something back as Andy said :)

I Look forward to meeting you at Events mate over a pint 8)

Whereabouts in the UK are you now - Essex?
Good to see you back on SWFUK! 8)

Liam :)

Welcome back Joe! :D gutted about the damaged items but at least your tri's are ok! If you're living down south, I look forward to seeing you at an event. Think there's a memorabilia later in the year at Excel London. Enjoy your unpacking

Aw thanks guys, appreciate the attempt to make me feel like I was missed Edd

To answer some questions:

Not going to claim on the cromalin, I packed it well but in all honesty it could have been better, the unfortunate thing about moving country and wanting to take everything you own with you is that you run the risk of leaving something behind or damaging something so instead of leaving things behind I packed them up and crossed my fingers, I was expecting a casualty really as it's a long way to travel but this one did hurt a bit! I still have it though which is the main thing and I think it will look just fine framed and flattened out so it's not the end of the world (was never going to sell it so I am not fussed about it losing its value at all)

I am currently living with family in Essex where I grew up, we are in time going to get ourselves a little place :) We both work from home anyways so doesn't matter where we go! Hence the move!

Thanks again guys, I am not on the boards as much as before but will be popping in whenever I get the chance! Chaos still at the moment while we get back into the swing of life in the UK!

Oh and will do my very best to get to meet some of you in the not so distant future!

Welcome back to the UK mate, glad to hear you all arrived safe & sound! 8)

LOL Mark! Yes I suppose it does :( The end of an era lol!

Many thanks to you and to Chris for all the times you helped me out, I don't know what I would have done without all your help these last few years!

Hey Joe

I bet your glad to back on UK soil. Im sorry to hear about your JD Cromalin taking a bit of a hit. If I was hauling my prized possessions across Europe Id want to take them with me via hand luggage.

If I was you Id ditch the Chinese for Indian food. Iv never had a bad experience with Indian food but wish i could say the same things with regards to Chinese food.

All the best

Grant. 8)

Welcome back Joe.
Shame about the damage, but good that it's getting framed.
Thinking statistically, there are probably a fair few folk who lost their luggage on the same day you flew back. Imagine how you would have felt then!!
Glass half full and all that...

Got it framed up!!

Check this out!

I ****ing love it, it's turned a purchase that never saw the light of day into a totally awesome display piece, so happy with how it turned out and in the frame the damage the cromalin suffered in transit is hardly visible!

Thanks Iain and Liam, yeah it sure is one of my favourites so will definitely get a good place in the collection room when it happens!

I like how a bad thing turned into a good thing in that it finally brought you to have it framed Joe. It looks amazing! 8)
