Autographed vintage carded figures

Was at the 'Invasion Dublin' Convention today, spotted one vintage figure, Lando Skiff Guard, on another stand other than Dermots. Spoke with the seller and he was looking for €40 for it. He Went on to tell me, ''It would be great to buy it as Billy Dee Williams is here and he will autograph it for you'' I thought about the discussion on here and said to him that if i was to buy it I defo wouldn't do that. He argued that he didn't think it devalued vintage items.....

You can imagine my surprise when he told me that he had brought his own POTF, Last 17, Lando General MOC to get signed by Billy Dee :shock:

The more I see them, I have to agree, Vintage card backs should not be signed, Just looks pants......

Never get a vintage card signed. Looks shite, collecters want the MOC's not signatures. Thats what photo's are for. He's a muppet to ruin a POTF card like that if he did get it signed.

I would say maybe if a carded had Harrison fords signature as he rarely signs. That may increase the value. Other than that, It de-values it. As far as what people do with their stuff, I guess that is their business, but if they do it thinking they have made a great investment, they truly are stupid. (Just my opinion and I have many autographs)

Would not be the first time I was banned. Expressing opinions is a no no on there (When they do not go along with the others Beliefs). Not a big loss as I rarely post there...I just like some of the deals I get in the classifieds.

and it was not attempt to get banned. I actually think they are being dicks to the guy. They are insulting his want for some guys autograph that he thinks is cool and he wants it. Making fun is one thing, but some of them are being their typical **** selves.

I'd say if he want it autographed he should, if that's what makes him smile, I have too contemplated getting
an autographed Luke Stormie, and would in a heartbeat if I had the chance.
After all, it's his toys, he can do whatever he wants regardless of what other people think.
In my opinion, the value of the toys isn't that important in the end, they're toys...

Not only am I in the minority here but I think I'M THE ONLY GUY who thinks autographs on MOCs is fine. I mean, NO, you dont get Billy Dee to autograph a freakin Vader but if Prowse/Jones does it, no problem. It's not about value with me though, it's about the childhood memories and the happy stuff that goes along with it. But I have to add, if I had an opprotunity to get Hamill to sign my Luke 12c, i'd probably pass because i'm just not a autograph guy.
