Artistic SWFUKers Thread as requested by Michael Sith :)

I Haven't done any artwork for a while, and got the new large hasbro xwing for christmas, which was begging for a weathering job. did it today, used the airbrush and various acrylic colours on it, pleased with how it turned out.

cheers mate, you can get an airbrush and canned air pretty cheap these days, good for basic work badger is a good one to start with.
Had fun with this, felt good to be doing something for me for a change.

Had a look a few times at kits, don't want to invest loads, in case I'm not taken with it.

Loads of cheap kits for £20 mark , but I presume they are crap!

You can get a decent enough brush for around 20 quid mate, i started with a badger version, single action press down and both paint and air comes out together, you can also get a double action brush, this is what i use, but this takes practise as you press for air and the paint comes out when you press the trigger down and back, how much paint depends on your finger pressure, tricky to master, if you need any pointers mate shoot me a message

Love that x-wing paint job grinchy, something to wash away those post Christmas blues! :D

Any chance you took any pics part way through? I'd be interested in seeing how you layered it up. Also, did you repaint the engine intakes with a brush that dark silver or is it all done with an airbrush?
Really great work by the way.. hence my desire to know and see more of how it was done :D

So many people have asked me on facebook how i did it that i wish i had taken more pics as i did it, the intakes i did with a brush, drybrushed silver and washes of black acrylic, if i do another one i'll take plenty of pics
