Artistic SWFUKers Thread as requested by Michael Sith :)

Stunning work Grinchy, I love 2D art and I think to some extent most people can draw *something* but I think 3D sculpting is something that is either in your blood or it isn't. Crazy stuff and so lifelike. I wouldn't know where to start.

Have you done any robots?

Cheers, i can draw but its an effort for me, i'm much better at slinging clay around, something i've loved doing since i was a kid, used to make dioramas for my figures sarlac pit, jabbas palace, wish i had pics of them, lol, lost to time now.
Robots, i was part of a team that made a full size R2 years ago, did promotions for ep 1 when that was out, we where on the big breakfast morning breakfast show with kenny baker to,

There was a guy on another forum called Bigturc that did some custom Star wars Droids heads, saw a few filter through ebay years back. I was after the 8D8 at the time but I never bought it as it needed painting and I didn't want to have a go myself.

This year I found a guy from America who did some stuff for Celebration who made a lifesize 8D8:

I am still in two minds whether I should get someone to make me a lifesize one or just go for a head..he's a pretty scary looking bugger so I might **** myself every time I walked into my collection room and no I haven't cleared either with the wife

those robot heads are cool, i've seen a few done over the years, if you got one i could give you pointers on painting it, i do offer a painting service as well as sculpting etc, in the new year now as i'm laid up after an op

The guy who did the lifesize one is hoping to do a small production run I think he is just trying to sort out the molds etc.

If I do get my hands on an unpainted one I may well give you a shout! Thanks :)

I didn't make this, just painted it and made acrylic eyes for it

Ian, loving the spacepaintings you've done my friend. Have seen people do this technique and is amazing to watch and so quick. Really great colours. Thank you for sharing. ~:D

There was a guy outside my office doing these with a variety of plates and cups and I couldn't believe how quick and detailed he got them.

I agree, great stuff Ian :D

I'm not a horror fan, but the pinhead, especial that eye, fantastic

My fav of the busts and statues is the bust of MJ Thriller, love that one 8)

The space paintings are cool, how the hell can they be done so quickly :!:

Would love to learn a little on the technique, love to have a crack myself, have a
Canvas doing nothing, and have been thinking on a space/falcon theme

So glad this thread was put up, some great stuff guys 8)

Awesome stuff. Been awhile since I checked a thread on here without all the Sherlock BS and the Joiner show. How is your work progressing Michael?
