Are ebay & Paypal scamming us on their conversion rates?

Yeah, it's almost impossible to send money to the states without Paypal. You can't do a bank transfer without incurring huge costs and you cant send a cheque because they won't be able to cash it over there. You can take the risk of sending cash but then you have to get it changed at a Bereau which will cost you and then the recorded shipping. So believe me i appreciate the convenience of Paypal. I don't however think any of that gives them the right to fix exchange rates in order to skim money of the top without telling us that's what they're doing.

Everyone is out to **** you but sometimes we are fortunate enough to get the choice of how hard we get ****ed. Choose paypal.

Thats why its much easier to use gumtree ect for UK and join a forum for specialist things, not just toys ect.

Ebay is raping everyone for money, but as most people cant be arsed to quibble about a few quid, they get over a million sales a day so they bag a few million out of our choice not to bypass ebay.

they are total assholes, its bad enough their rates are higher than the norm but I purchased something 3 weeks ago for 1500 bucks on ebay and underneath it said Approximately £936.78 so I was expecting paypal to take that much so when i paid the 1500 as it was a US auction, paypal took nearly £40 pound more on top which is a piss take because its the same fkn company.

sellings **** too because u pay high ten percent fees and then when u get paid, paypal take their cut too...fkn too greedy, im actually shocked they allow you to transfer money into your bank account free.

You can go into your bank and ask for a cheque drawn up which can be cashed in the states. You need to give them 24hr notice or something like that. Doesn't cost any extra (or didn't when I last did this).the cheques are much bigger than our standard ones.
