The sticks take some beating. Here is my cow:

I don't want to alarm you Ed, but that cow with one teat might be a bull! I bet you have had fun milking him though

On a more serious note HUGE thanks to all the very sensible and informative posts guys, really helps, there sure is an amazing difference in prices up and down the country. I guess for optimum saving I may have to go live in a field (but hopefully not close to Ed and his "cow")

I tried milking it but without any balls there wasn't a huge amount of "produce" my labours
Fairly sure it is a girl cow rather than a boy cow. As you can tell I am well versed with country terminology!!

Back OT I couldn't imagine living anywhere else in the world.
And bollocks to you Joe- you wouldnt be welcome with me and my cow!!!

Welcome to Royston Vasey- you'll never leave

Pretty sure you don't know what you're on about when it comes to cattle. Looks like a steer too me mate.
But keep on milking it if it tickles your fancy.

That makes two of us! The cow (boy or girl) seems to enjoy it so what the hell!

Now I am confused  You're going to have to take pics of it's nether regions next time you visit it to clear this up.
Looks like a male too me, can't see if it's a bull or a steer though. But you reckon it has no nuts so I am going for steer.

   I love this place. How did a simple request for rental prices end up being a discussion about bovine gender?

Does not matter...he will still get some kinda of white liquid out of it, if he pulls on it enough.

Im a countryman at heart, but i found a village just on the edge of sheffield, 50 mins from Leeds, Bradford ect.

we have a detached 3 bed with garage and a lot of land and we pay £450ish per month on our mortgage.

we have an office in London, and i dont mind visiting but live there...no way lol

This thread has definitely gone downhill!
I do appologise for bringing Daisy/ Brian into it

Joe move to Gravesend or Dartford mate?!

Far cheaper than good old Essex and it's only £1.50 each way to cross the river and see your pals....leave it until after 10pm and the ****er is free (bargain  )

We was looking at a place in Chelmsford and it was more than our shared ownership place in Heathfield (sussex) which is a beautiful place and not far from anywhere, didnt understand it myself but I guess being that much closer to London commands a premium...

Hope it works out ok for you whatever you end up doing

I only rent a room and that costs 300 a month so not too bad but if you want a place to rent, theres poll tax and so many bills that even with 2 ppl its expensive unless have very well paid jobs.

Where have you ended up Andy?

You sound close to me in wharncliffe side

And although I'm new to the country it looks like a bull to me

Joe good luck with the hunt I'd also go for norfolk if I were you, near Essex but cheaper

Ended up near Hellaby, prob exactly the same distance from Sheffield as you, just the other side, worked out perfect, the missus works in Donny and we are bang on the M18 for when we visit my family in East Yorkshire.

Depends on what you want to do for a living mate to be honest. Its better to go where the work is, then the rent is second
