I decided to treat myself for my birthday the other day so i bought the new 'Virtual Reality' system for the PlayStation 4. Its unreal I didn't know what to expect when I was unpacking it.
I like a good bit of action so I decided to buy Resident Evil along with it! well blow me sideways I wasn't expecting what I got. The fear factor is well up when you put on the headset and earpiece. Has anyone else played this game yet?
I have now discovered I can download a VR 15 min introduction for Rogue One from the Star Wars Battle front game. You are inside a X-Wing with the full control.
It comes with a few demo games Valkyrie is a different level to anything I have ever played before. As you look around the cockpit your actually looking at yourself wearing a space suit if you look down.
If there's anyone big into gameing this is the way to go now. I can't wait till the full list of games are available this summer :D
If you have the PS4 already around another £450 should set you up with 1 game. It is expensive but its the the best gaming system in for within the budget that I could afford. There are more expensive systems out there. But its the best by far that I have ever owned or played to date. Anyone who does splash out I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks for the post Collie. Getting one for my daughter next month for her birthday (great excuse!). Already upgraded to a PS4 Pro ready and can't wait to try the Battlefront Rogue One demo. Happy days! :D

Yes Andy you'll love it, at the moment I still haven't managed to get Rouge one to upload.
A few bits that also may help you. What you will need to buy is the PS camera about £40.
What comes in the VR box is the headset and and control box and all the leads not much else. Wireless motion hand controllers will be another £70 but I find you don't need them for now. Better designed controllers are soon being released. Your PS 4 controller will work fine thats all I have been using up to now. The shops will try to sell you the motion controllers along with the VR system.
A few more games I now have 'PlayStation VR worlds' is a good buy thats used on ebay. And 'Rush of blood'
You can read up on them the deep sea cage dive in VR words is amazing. This is only a demo disc though to give you a few different experiences. A new game is around £40 so you could get a few used now on ebay at half the price.
Looking forward to hearing how your experience goes :D

My god, Rogue One Battlefront VR on my PS4 Pro is breathtaking. Probably the single most impressive gaming experience of my life. Gaming in the future will be mind blowing.
If you haven't already done so play it, now!

**** Andy I still can't get my Rouge One to work
I will try it again it won't load up. How long did it take to update for you? I think there must be a problem with mine.
Have you tried any of the other games yet? Try the PlayStation VR Worlds, Your in a cage deep sea diving with a Great White swimming around you, it truly is a different experience to what we know I'm glad you like it. Wait till you other guys try it 8)

It looks like others have had problems downloading, mine was fine though. Worth persevering looking for a solution online.

Maybe this will help.

Tried the VR Worlds demo. Got the gentle submerging cage but no shark attack with it, great intro to VR. I'be bought Rush of Blood and my daughter loves Job Simulator which is surprising fun and beautifully designed. Nothing tops the wow factor of Rogue One VR though. Get it sorted!! :D :D

When things have calmed down going to get farpoint with the gun. Got to start playing Mario Kart on the Switch yet 8)

So chaps,

I am still at PS3 (don't laugh) and was absolutely blown away by the Star Wars experience on the vive in London.

I don't have a pc (we are fully apple at home) and I have seen the PlayStation vr but would need to buy the machine first. I thought great, cheaper than the vive and I don't need to **** about with building a pc or worrying about compatibility etc.

Is it worth it? Are there enough games to justify its purchase or do I hold out for a few more months until a better catalogue is available. And do the games work or is it just a showcase at the moment.

If you can I would try and book yourself on a Sony VR experience. I believe they tour the country or certainly have in the past.

It's probably about £800 from scratch to buy the PS4 Pro, VR headset, camera and Move sticks. There are quite a few games out now and tech demos. The prices seem to be coming down all the time and you could probably take advantage of bundle offers. Assuming Star Wars Battlefront 2 has more VR stuff (due out in November 2017) maybe that's the time to buy. So definitely worth buying now, even more so at Christmas.

Yes I do see your point it will cost around £800 if you haven't got a PS4 it is a lot of money. I bought mine more or less once it hit the shops over here and there was limited games available at the time. But I have even seen a good jump in availability over the last few months. I really think it is just starting to take off this VR gaming. I also think if you held out they will hammer out any teething problems with the system and down the line possibly Xmas 18 you'll see an even better PS system probably wireless.
As for gaming its surpasses anything I have ever experienced before. I played a lot of Resident Evil on the earlier systems. But with the VR this new one really makes you feel like you are inside the whole surroundings and can be a bit nerve wrecking if you like that kind of stuff. Its definitely a thumbs up from me but if you did hold out I've no doubt as Andy said package deals and up grades will hit the shelves nearing Xmas.
Before I bought mine there wer some great buys on ebay including games and the PS4 +VR you could save a possible £200. Looking back I would definitely consider eBay if I was to buy again. I think I just liked the idea at the time of buying new.

Suggest anyone thinking about getting one try it out first - my daughter works at Game and so far about half the people that have bought it have traded it in after a few months (at a big loss) they cant get past the feeling of motion sickness

I would agree with this, though I have only found Drive Club makes me feel sick so far. I think trying the demos is a really good way of knowing what will and won't suit.

Yes that is a good point, I read about that in the reviews before I bought it. Unfortunately some people do have bad experiences wearing the headset and getting motion sickness. I felt a slight bit of dizziness at the start of playing ' Rush of Blood' but other than that have had no other problems. Definitely it would be a good idea getting a demo run on the VR before buying it if anyone is interested.

I picked it up yesterday and it's absolutely unreal!

I did have to stop playing the X-Wing mission though due to getting a bit motion sick! Going to persevere though and try getting used to it, maybe take some travel sickness pills first!

There are plenty of slower motion games I played though, tried the VR Worlds demo and the underwater cage was amazing. I was worried that the headset may make you feel a bit isolated but the experience was very therapeutic.

Probably the wrong forum but Star Trek Bridge Crew multiplayer is hilarious, worth checking out some videos on youtube. Hopefully there'll be some sort of Star Wars version.

I still can't get Battle Front to work! It's very frustrating it sounds amazing i can't wait to try it. I will try again this week hopefully figures crossed.

Do you think they'll make a version for the Game Cube or am I probably going to be out of luck?

Good luck, definitely worth it!

I did read that Battlefront II will have at least 3 VR missions.
