I have been drawn into the smartphone bug. There is so many people with internet access via their smartphones at work and then there is me with my Brick of a Nokia.

I am nowhere near a phone geek and have never had a touchscreen phone.

What would your recommend between a I Phone 2, Samsung Galaxy 2, Sasmung Galaxy 3 (Released at the end of May) and a HTC X

I went into my Local Carphone Warehouse and was recommended the HTC. I would use the phone for Internet more than anything a few texts and i dont really use mins?

Any advice guys? :)

If price is a factor i highly recommend the Smasung galaxy. It runs the iPhone very close and many critics actually rate it as the more user friendly phone. I have used both (and i am an apple man normally) and i can honestly say the only thing the iphone has on the Samsung is the apple logo on the back.

The cheapest iPhone contract i was offered at CarPhone Warehouse was £37 a month... !! **** that.
With the exact same package the Samsung contracts start at around £25.
I still wasn't willing to go anywhere near that price so i asked the guy if there are cheaper options. I got a contract which allows me 1hr of calls (the guy told me "that's no where near enough" to which i replied, "oh, will you be using it too?"). I don't tend to make calls. Literally only use it to say "i'm on my way" "where are you" etc etc. I've yet to use the hour in the given month. Phoning people up for "a chat" is an alien concept to me so i don't need "unlimited" calls.
Then i get 250 texts a month. I text much more than i call. It's almost my only form of phone communication but i still haven't got through 250 in a month either.
Then i asked the guy about internet. He said you can have "unlimited", "500mbs" or "250mbs" . I asked him what does that mean in layman's terms? What is the actual difference between 500mbs and 250mbs to which he replied "i have no idea". Cheers. So i took "500" and have yet to use half of that in a month.

The cost of this contact is £16.50 a month. If i'd got less internet i could have got it lower but this is very affordable and less than i was spending on my pay as you go.
The handset was free and i'm not giving them an extra £8 a month insurance (something they were not happy about at all) so £16.50 is my only cost per month.

i got my iphone 3gs for £30 a month on a 3 contract. i wouldn't be without it now.
i'm led to believe the technology used in the andriod phones is better and allows more room for later development, but i'm not sure.
i think if i was to get another phone now, i'd go for another iphone......................the choice is yours

PS. I am on O2. They have a great web-site where you will be given your own account. There you can keep tabs on how much usage you are getting through and make sure you're not going over on anything. As you can see, there is a week left on these stats and i am WAY under usage on everything. But that's me. Everyone uses their phone differently and will need to chose a package that suits them.

I just inherited an Iphone as my wife just got a new Samsung galaxy thingy - honestly I have no idea how to use the thing apart from the camera and angry birds

Im an Iphone guy myself. WOuldnt be without it now. TObe honest Liam they are all pretty similar so if all you mainly want it for is internet, go with your instinct and what you like.

Hey Liam, I have a Galaxy Nexus myself and am very happy with it. But as the other guys say, go with your feeling. They're all great phones.
