Any of you guys catch this **** on FB?

Hi guys - apologies from my end if it looked like I was having a go at TIG - it sounds like there is similar feelings on there for Darren's repro crap

I just found it strange that Darren was name dropping the site as a future platform for his (unproduced) stuff - it read as though he had been invited to do so

No probs,

Just to make it clear: At TIG we don't like Darren's reproductions as well. The fact that he seems to mark them, doesn't change that.
He or any other reproductionist will never be provided a platform to sell repro crap on TIG.

As for the custom section in TIG's Tosche Station.
Clearly no reproductions of existing items are allowed there, as can be read in the descriptions.
After reading this thread, we will make sure that message comes across even more clear.

Forgive me for jumping to conclusions but i've never really trusted or respected TIG as a forum since the whole Wolff painted figure scam debacle. It was appallingly handled but everything has been said on that subject so i'll not revisit it in too much depth. Just explaining my comment. I don't wish to make enemies over there i don't even know who was calling the shots when the whole nonsense went down (a friend of Wolff's i can only assume) but it caused myself and dozens of others to close their TIG accounts and sullied the possibly formerly good name of the forum for good in my eyes.

Sorry you still feel that way about TIG. Wolffgate happened a long time ago. In hindsight you can always debate whether or not the right decision was taken. Let's not do that here, and instead look how TIG is doing nowadays, with an almost complete new team (including my humble self), working very hard to provide content for our beloved hobby, discussing serious and fun stuff, and fighting repro weapons, accessories, boxes, figures.

Maybe you are willing to give us a second chance?
We would massively appreciate it and be happy see you returning. This time we make sure, you won't feel the need to leave again.

Same for the other guys who left us four years ago.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

Cheers

Marco

Yes, agreed. Sorry i said anything but long time ago or not, some things just shape the way you feel about something or someone for good. But it's old dirt and there's no need to be digging it up again. Sorry i said anything i just felt my comment needed clarifying. There's a lot of good people on the TIG forum but like with all forums, sometimes one guy can ruin it for everyone.
ps. How hard do you think it was to not take you up on the underlined?? See, i'm growing.

Fair enough!

I think you did well and passed the TIG test for being a true gentleman.
You clearly belong there too now. :D

I knew TIG would not support him. Thanks for all the clarification.

Cheers Todd. Absolutely!
Just to add, Darren Orme and his repro boxes is well known to us at TIG. As admin at imperialgunnery.com (the website not the forum) and responsible for writing and uploading its content, last week I made an update on his new repro stuff and there is also an in-depth entry on his older stuff too: http://www.imperialgunnery.com/vehiclesplaysetsother.htm

Rest assured we do everything possible to keep up to date with repros and would never endorse it. It's sad to say - but also a reality - that repros are a parasite to the hobby and won't be going away any time soon. For me things seem to have gotten worse in these past 18 months or so.

Also, to add to Marco's post, we've just (on the forum) added stickies for the Tosch Station sections stating our zero tolerance stance on repro.

thanks everyone, best regards, Paul.

TIG have ZERO TOLERANCE for all things repro & I speak from experience when I sold my boxed Sandcrawler a couple of years ago.I bought some of Darren's repro inserts for the Sandcrawler & when I listed it for sale on TIG,AJ politely asked me to remove it from my for sale thread even though the inserts were clearly marked repro in large letters which I had no problem doing! 8)

Sorry to be a bit late here, but I struggle to understand why anyone would assume that TIG would ever support any form of Reproduction work, being that it is a site that is and always has been dedicated to helping the community identify reproduction **** from day one.
Darren has posted his interest in his reproduction work on the site, and from his first post TIG has heavily made it clear about labelling his pieces as repro and clearly.
This is quite clear if you simply read the thread

Assuming TIG would ever put at platform the sale of this **** is just a general display of ignorance really.

Actually Alex, Darren stated on his fb page that TIG were giving him a platform to showcase his work. Hence the thread.....

However, this is sorted now and doesn't really need reopened.

Hold on there friend, I don't think anyone was "ignorant" enough to assume that. Orme was the one who was namedropping TIG on his fb page and indicating he was going to be showcasing his "work" there, not any individual assuming anything.

TIG management has clarified this is not the case (not everyone who posts here posts there, so some people such as myself wouldn't have seen the thread you are referencing). I think the rest of your post could be construed as a touch insulting.

I am not sure If your statement about his 10 point font size repro mark is to justify him making them and I hope it is not. This thread was a closed case.......and you opened it up for some reason. To defend your forum fine...If it is to defend Orme...you are barking up the wrong tree.

I think it was meant to be.

I know Pete. I'm trying to be more diplomatic. Richard has been teaching me, especially where other forums and collectors are concerned as he's worried about me upsetting them ;) I upset the last guy I swore at so I'm trying a new approach.

Darren is also now telling people that he is going to be featured on RS. This bloke needs to be shut down pronto.

To be fair they do allow the sale of reproduction items on there so that really wouldn't surprise me. Having said that they do pick and chose who they allow to sell illegal repros and who they don't so you never know. Could go either way.

This feels a bit like invasion of the body snatchers. The creature from planet Orme has replaced sensible people with his minions.. He's got TIG, he's infiltrated Facebook, now rebel scum.. Soon enough..

No.. Cc4rhu.. No.. You can't be his friend.. Not you richard.. Nooooooo
