Just read through some of posts. Hilarious. What a bunch a-holes. I guarantee none of them admit to any of being repro when showing off the collections.

And some of them have the balls to sound off about repro weapons. Head scartching, surely boxes are as bad if not worse. Obviously not in their tiny minds.

I think he owned a lot of MIB stuff before. From what I could gather, he had a reasonable collection and was a proper collector. Decided to leave the hobby but before doing so scanned all his stuff and is now ****ing the hobby over. He doesn't care, he's gone. Although where he's getting scans of bins and headers I don't know. Reading his page, it seems he may have got them from other repro people.

It seems its impossible to educate people though, and people seem not to realise the huge damage just buying one of these guys items is doing to the hobby. Even the inners. Its keeping this guy going and although buying replacement inners doesn't seem too bad, its helping him expand his range and he isn't going to stop anytime soon.

What I dont get is these people stating that they can't afford vintage prices, yet are happy to part with £40 for a repro box... things aren't that expensive out there. I've quickly found that theres a nagging joyless experience when you know something isn't real, your brain keeps saying "whats the point". A bit like my hope that Katy Perry will realise her relationship mistakes and come home to Royal leam..

I'm ok with TIG's custom thread as it's not for repros. There really would be no point showcasing a direct copy of something but this section seems to be more about 'what ifs'.

Back when I was desperate to complete my palitoy reseal run I ended up grafting a few vintage cut card bubbles (both opened and sealed), onto original palitoy card backs. The sealed cut cards were from palitoy 12 backs and the opened/sliced cut cards were Kenner (pretty sure they were from someone's U graded figures as there were no figures for sale with the cut card bubbles :evil. Not sure what to call these but they sit well in my collection and they'd never pass for MOC. Not sure how you guys feel about me doing this but I've thought of it more as restoration and not harmful to the hobby.

If we are to buy into his rational as this is art or customs...that is all bullshit. These are repros/replicas. Not custom...not art. If he does do customs (Unproduced itEms from the vintage line)...he will still use it as a platform to sell his repro garbage.

Reseals are an entirely different thing. Not copies.

That's how I feel and I still can't understand why people would want to pay good money for a reproduction when they could have the original thing for close to the same money in a lot of cases. In some was I almost prefer reseals to MOC as I know the figure's been played with at some point.

correct. There will be no promotion of his site/sales on TIG.
Customs are fine but association to anything else will never be tolerated.

Forgive me for jumping to conclusions but i've never really trusted or respected TIG as a forum since the whole Wolff painted figure scam debacle. It was appallingly handled but everything has been said on that subject so i'll not revisit it in too much depth. Just explaining my comment. I don't wish to make enemies over there i don't even know who was calling the shots when the whole nonsense went down (a friend of Wolff's i can only assume) but it caused myself and dozens of others to close their TIG accounts and sullied the possibly formerly good name of the forum for good in my eyes.

Hi guys - apologies from my end if it looked like I was having a go at TIG - it sounds like there is similar feelings on there for Darren's repro crap

I just found it strange that Darren was name dropping the site as a future platform for his (unproduced) stuff - it read as though he had been invited to do so

To the TIG guys, thank you for clarifying the facts. Whilst I don't post over there I have found your resources on repro extremely valuable in identifying bits. This all seemed to fly in the face of this and it's good to know he won't have the platform for his garbage that he seems to think he will.
