Any of you guys catch this **** on FB?

I was thinking to have Darren on the blog and to set up some kind of debate with another collector about repros. He came across as a nice guy and I thought he was well-intentioned. But I'm doing my best to only have decent collectors on there and after the lynching I got the other day on his page this definitely rules him out. I very much doubt he cares about the hobby and is simply focussed on making money to feed his family.

The Garbage Pail Kids forums were all issued with cease and desists from Topps about a year ago due to their members selling custom GPK Cheap Toys. Most of which were not even copies of anything ever in production. I know that 3 of the major forums were contacted and given very stern warnings by Topps lawyers.

Joe, its not that im supporting anything. What he is doing is wrong, but this day has been due to come for years. The world itself is getting clever, technology has come a long way and there wont be enough lawsuits to cover every single forger-sad, but very true.

When I was in the game over a decade ago, Ebay shut me down three times....banned my account and I received letters. I now know selling repros is **** and wrong, but back then I asked them why I was shutdown while other guys where still allowed to sell reproductions...they basically told me they where like cops isssing speeding tickets and could not catch everyone even if reported...I think it matters how much volume you are selling as that equates to cash in their pocket. At any rate...this guy does not need to be associated with this forum as he is doing this for cash and like I have said,,,the size of the boxes he is making takes more than a home printer and some glue....he has helpers.

Is this just for selling unique customs? Ironic now as eThief is littered with crap custom **** which doesn't get pulled down.

Customs is different game. Reproductions/replica items are against ebay rules.................unless you sell high volume.

Well Darren has now blocked me on FB. Pretty cowardly considering I was nothing but polite with him even though I challenged him to be less selfish. I think deep down he knows what he is doing is wrong but he's subordinating ethics to money.

Yeah you are probably right mate. He definitely would have liked the level of support he received. I wrote up a big response thanking them for giving me electronic evidence of their threats and for leaving their profiles open so I knew who they were. But then I thought better of it, anyone who would threaten someone over an opinion on SW collecting doesn't deserve further engagement.....

Just read the whole thing and all I can say is I truly appreciate just how amazing this forum is - there are a lot of really stupid people out there, keep them on FB where they belong. That Karen quine is one messed up puppy no wonder she is banned from every "normal" SW community and don't get me started on Mr "I retired at 43" what a knob!

You absolutely cannot argue with people like that, seriously don't waste your time or get frustrated trying :x

So he has to travel to get the boxes??? I want to know who the asshole or assholes are that are helping him with production or better more images/scans.

I have had a look at that repro **** page on facebook a couple of times to see what is actually being made,
and it looks like just about any if not all boxes are made or will soon be made.
They are even talking about starting to do the same repro box **** for G I Joe, and Transformers.
It wont be ending anytime soon, and the dicks that make up his cutomer and fan base will grow.
Makes me sick to see this garbage, but as long as dipshits want to give him money, he will keep going.
Why do idiots give the box measurements, they must think they are doing a good thing helping him with measurements,
but in actual fact, they are making the problem even bigger.

I spoke with him after we made the first podcast as it came up on there, he did agree to come on the podcast and defend his items but we as a podcast team decided against it to not give him the publicity, would love to have had a good showdown with the bloke though.
