Just a stab in the dark here but I wondered if there were any tv repair experts / enthusiasts on the forum.
I had a flat screen Sony bravia kdl 43w807c which was only 2 years old when I managed to destroy the HDMI interface board, I did this by plugging a HDMI lead in when an xbox 1 machine was turned on, did not work, (no picture) and then none of the HDMI Arial or scart ports worked. Tried all the usual re-boots and firm ware refreshes as the wifi internet works as its a separate bit inside.
So be weary of plugging these things in powered on.
Looking inside this board is the BMX interface board and is easy to remove,(has all the HDMI scart and arial plugs on it) , a few plugs and screws, I removed it and looked for any hot spots burnouts etc can see no heat damage. Chips are so small now don't think you could replace on if you could work out what was faulty, you can get these boards on e-bay for £45 .
My question for any electrical experts out there is, is it worth getting a new interface BMX board or could the problem have gone to the capped power board or something else inside, these TV's nowadays only seem to have these two boards inside now. I can still get internet Netflix all the help systems but no signals will go into the telly from the board arial / hdmi scart etc, HDMI shows as connected on the tv screen when connected to a device but no signal gets through, is there anything else I could try or is it defiantly the board that's fried.
Anyone had any expiriance with this problem before ??

Thanks for any help / advice on this issue. cheers matt
