I can't quite believe what I'm reading here:

http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1104436/

It looks like the mods over there seem to think it's OK that somebody is selling high value items that they do not have in their possession yet. Seriously!?

something good to read tonight as there's no "i'm a celebrity get me out of here" on the telly.

That Mandolarian2192 guy is hilarious. God that site is funny.

One thing on the side of this Erik fella. I've never understood people's issue with someone asking way too much for items. So? What's the issue? A GPK forum i'm on has a whole 'hall of shame' thread dedicated to outing ebay sellers asking too much for their items. I find it very strange.
Other than that i obviously detest everything this Erik fella does, is and stands for but what's new. It's RS country.

I agree that the flipping/prices are a non-issue. As the mods say people can charge what they like, that's fine. But selling things he hasn't even seen yet using the photos from his purchase is outrageous!

It is a bit of a trainwreck - and I think that the seller comes out of it looking pretty bad considering it is one of his customers (?) and not him that is putting up the biggest fight.

This is the same guy who couldn't be bothered to send me a picture of something I wanted to buy - and also came on here all chumy chumy and then turned into a twat - so I have little sympathy for him - in addition his sales thread is a complete mess - and annoying bumped up all the time.

However, your point is spot on Edd and I can't believe that the MODs havn't weighed in - surely it is not right to sell items that you don't have in your possession

No, completely. If you don't have those items in hand how on earth can you describe them accurately?? Just assume that the ebay seller you bought it off was describing it accurately and was not also using pictures from the guy he bought it off and was that guy using pictures of the guy he bought it off…. on so on. It's like chinese ****ing whispers.
It was stated in that thread that is actually is a rule on RS to only sell things you own. Altho he's technically found a loop-hole for me it's a no brainer for the mods to step in and say 'goods in transit to you are not considered owned until in hand'. Also i assume the rule 'describe items accurately' is also one that is being overlooked here (for the aforementioned reasons)

Yes I completely agree. Its rather scandalous to be honest. I would never dream of selling an item I don't have in hand. I may contact someone that may be interested and say I have such an item en route and would re message them with pics once I have the item in hand.

The mods on there don't surprise me anymore!

Why do they allow that constant bumping?? It's obviously massively abused and the MODs could stop it if they wanted.
Regular sellers just don't get a fair crack. I remember posting something for sale there and within a few hours it was on page 3. It literally lasted minutes on page 1.
It's a ****ing mess of a sale thread as it is. Sorting it out really is a no brainer.. but then… (actually i'll leave that)

That DaxWills idot is at it again trying to say that forcing new members to listen to the thoughts of older members is more damaging to the hobby than U Grading Rancor Keeper MOC

I've done that before several times, but was completely honest about the fact I didn't have it yet and asked them to wait until I had it before I could send them photos and a price etc. I think that is fine.

I've tried several times over the years to get the bumping conversation going, and although most people agree (apart from the twats who bump their posts every hour) the mods aren't interested

Wow, I've just finished reading all 13 pages on RS, good god I'm glad I only casually buy and sell the odd item on there and don't bother with much else.

Totally agree, its poor practice to be selling items you don't have at hand and using other seller's photos. I hope this doesn't happen here??

Well since the thread there was locked :(

Just an fyi on the reason why the whole thread was brought up. A lot of people in there had PM'ed Erik ages ago about a bunch of the things brought up (why you using my photos, why he flipped the second he paid for something, that total trainwreck of a sales thread). I personally had messaged him about why he was flipping my DSD right away and more recently gave him some tips about how to make his sales thread to be less of a **** storm).

He responses were always terse and dismissive....and apparently he was this way with a bunch of other people. So someone got sick of it and started the thread, and then the floodgates were open!

I for one, am simply glad that sales thread is gone. Every time it was bumped my soul died a little.

Anyways....hopefully that sheds a little light! A true cluster of a thread, but as usual, quite a good read

Couldn't agree more - it was one of the shittest threads I have ever seen - it was so annoying and the number of times it was bumped was just silly

How he has the brass to knock people down on prices and relist as soon as a deal is done a 5x the price is beyond me, i wouldnt send him the item and tell him to go **** himself.

Agreed, that would stop him in his tracks. Refund his money and keep it.

I love the smell of RS in the morning

Got to add, nice to see Karen getting a mention in there too, she is the stuff of legends now
