Evening,

I was hoping to pick some of your brains about an all silver gamorrean guard axe that came with part of a large lot i bought recently.

I've never seen one like it before, my automatic response was repro but there was nothing suspect about the rest of the collection, just a typical loft clearance. Anyone know anything about these? the mould seems identical to brown/silver examples from my own collection. It sank in the water test but i think thats what genuine axes do too?

I know kenner had a thing for reusing star wars moulds in other toy lines (Robin hood etc) - did Friar Tuck have a barbarian axe up his robes that i didn't know about!?! ;D

Seriously though any help on this would be appreciated!

I wondered about that but I thought they were cast in brown plastic and had silver paint rather than the other way round?

They are cast in silver with brown spray ops. I have an example, painted with the same injector pin marks (the 2 circles on the right hand photo). I think it may be a unpainted example.

"The Guard Axe was available moulded in both brown and silver, therefore the spray ops used for each was unique to its own production. "

I have never seen a gamorrean Guard axe with spray ops, great thread guys

Thanks for all the information :D

Could it be from 'Robin Hood- Prince of theives'?

I have all the figures in that set and there is no silver axe

I think it is one that was either never painted or some sort of repro

It is missing the brown paint (Factory error) or was stripped (pretty easy ;) ). Mold s real so no repro!

Anyway...it looks unreal dude....like headman's axe....after he lost his sword!

Very cool 8) (if you havent payed extra cash for it )
