Hi all, does anyone own AFA graded loose ships? I would love to see some pics as I imagine the AFA cases would be huge but would make awesome displays. Inparticular I would love to see a AFA loose AT-AT, not so much for the grade score, just for the displayability.

Cheers, Mike

Well, there was a U-graded B-Wing a while back on RS. IIRC the guy claimed he did it to have it displayed, but he was quickly found out to have put them on ebay for profit.

Cheers for the reply, I remember that one, I think that maybe why I started this thread, I remember the case being massive on that. I've done a search on Brianstoys but they only have AFA boxed ones. Maybe AFA do not grade loose ships then?

AFA do grade loose ships. Ive seen a few. A guy was selling a large lot of stuff last year and in amongst it were some graded loose ships. I dont think its that popular as I think people dont tend to see value for money. There arent that many ships that this service would be viable for. Cost of shipping and grading normally outweighs the cost of the ship.

There are exceptions such as the A-WING, Tatooine Skiff and perhaps the Imperial shuttle but the cost of postage two ways and the cost of grading against the cost of the vehicle is going to mean that it is not cost effective for the out come.

Steve at UKG or Darren (Vaderschild) might be able to knock you up an acrylic display case for a loose vehicle if that is what you are after. I would say avoid grading the vehicle and just have a case made if all you want to do is display it.

Just my opinion though. 8)
