Not yet, was going to let the party run here for a bit longer first.

Richard has confirmed that the graded example is not from either of the 2 sources we know of ungraded examples, so that makes 3 in my books.

Richard and Jason, thanks for sharing this. Great to see a sealed/graded example now surface.

I'd imagine that this would have also gone through Tom/CIB, correct?

Would be awesome to see the grading report on this bad boy! I guess it almost has to have gone through Tom right? Given the fact that it's never actually been confirmed 100%

Richard has said he will be posting some more pics after he gets delivery of the item from AFA which is due tomorrow. Maybe he will add some colour on the pieces background & history and what procedures AFA went through to grade it. He expects to post some pics of the jawa along with the rest of his collection next week.

Awesome Jason, looking forward to it!

Great piece the owner must be thrilled.

I was highly sceptical that this existed until a couple of years ago, based on the fact that I had a vinyl cape Jawa as a kid and still have the Kenner backing card to this day.

Then a friend picked up a card with vinyl cape bubble attached, then another surfaced in Europe and finally last year got to see Jason Joiners at Empire Day........amazing what is still out there to discover :D

Thanks for posting this Jason, your patched up example already had me drooling over my keyboard, but this is just amazing.

An amazing peice - and looks like a lot of people will be proved right

Wonder how many copies of this one we will see coming up on eBay now ?

Simply joyous news guys, so glad you now have Concrete proof of its existence Jason, must feel great & thank you for making the photos available to us all to share in the joy both of you.

Dam shame its not UKG graded in a way with its heritage though, would be a further feather in the UK's cap so to speak.

Great find

It's not for me to reveal anything on this, that entirely rests with Richard

But I believe I know the background to this and have had in my hands to help verify for a previous owner.

It's great it's all finally sorted now 8)

I think having it UKG graded would have given the nay sayers and non believers one final straw to clutch at. Having AFA grade it was the right choice given the history and controversy surrounding this piece.

If you mean that some bellend would still dispute its authenticity that makes perfect sense and is a good point. :D

Awesome piece and thanks for showing.

Even money we'll see a tonne of these appear on ebay now as 'authentic'

That's true Jason, no reason why it can't be submitted now though, that would be soooo cool :p

I'm sure there will be at least one person who says " yes but AFA have been wrong before". At least if that does happen we can have some fun flaming them! I bet it's going to be one very long night and morning before Richard receives it from the postman, let's just hope they don't know what they've got in their hands.

Eager to hear the whole story on this one. :D

It's important to remember the reason for a lot of that doubt (at least in recent times) was because not one but two of the handful of sealed versions we are keeping count of both came from or belong to people with rather dodgy backgrounds. The debate originally formed from hazy childhood memories and very few facts, some said it was real, others said it wasn't and then along the way we had a couple turn up from questionable sources which didn't really help one way or the other. I honestly don't think anyone would have questioned one of these if Gary/Lee/Jason/Darren/Graham/Dave (the "good guy" list of UK collectors is endless) had found one!

Of course I know that having a dodgy past doesn't mean everything you touch is fake but perhaps if one of those sealed examples had been found by a guy with a great reputation AND then graded 10 years ago for example (AFA have been around a long time after all) that lingering doubt would have probably been wiped out by now.

This AFA piece will definitely be a great thing to talk about for a couple of weeks and again I am happy for those that believed in it for so long, it's always been a fun debate and it's super interesting to see one go through AFA's hands and out the other end with a seal of approval.

As I said before - Looking forward to the back story and everything else Richard will fill us in on soon!

Will let you all get back to the "I told you so" chants now
