After reading a lot of threads on here, I've started just having a look around, just to see what's available in my not too far in the distant future budget.

Does this ring true to the more experienced collectors on here? vintage Brand new unopened on card ESB figure, some creasing on one corner AND glue residue on bottom of bubble.

Im not expert at but, have seen threads on here about reseals and it's under £100.
I don't want to put too many details in case I'm standing on the toes of a member here/ genuine seller, any advice.
Thanks.

Not entirely sure what you mean man? Vintage brand new on card? Doesn't make sense. Vintage, brand new...if it's 35 years old how is it brand new? It's either original factory sealed, resealed, or repro, that's it! If it relates to an actual sale you're better off posting a link or more details then members can give an opinion. Your question is too vague but an ESB moc for under £100 is unlikey/suspect.

Yup, my bad sorry, unopened but, glue residue on bubble? And I've since posting the thread have realised at that price....don't think so.
Got a bit excited there, thought I'd found a bargain.
Ignore this thread, idiot newbie alert!

Can you show a photo? Would love to help. Or at least give you some pointers if it is a blatant reseal / recard

Don't get me wrong mate, you may well have found a bargain but you need to show us what it is! Sounds like a reseal, has the seller disclosed that it's a reseal or are they claiming it's unopened/factory sealed? Send a pic to Dan (SOJ), he knows about ESB cards :)

Only on phone so can't see clear pics, but looking at the original listing the bubble papers a little lifted in the bottom right hand corner. Also, these were heat sealed, not glued, so don't know where that glue (not that I could see any) is from.

Don't be put off by his no returns etc. he's a business seller so is governed by the Distance Selling Regulations and gets no choice in whether he accepts returns or not within a specified cooling off period.

The language the seller is using suggests he knows what he is talking about and having a disclaimer stating no repro/ reseal suggests to me is legit. It looks good to me and if when you receive it's not you can open a case against him

If it stayed at its current price bargain. But as its a well list auction I'm guessing it's going to go for between £150 and £200

Also it's not an ESB.

not entirely true about ESB MOC's for under £100....i recently picked up a fantastic Hammerhead on this forum for under that.

I seen this on one of my R2 12 backs , it's hard to see clearly, it's only until it's goes under an UV light you get see it's been reglued , someone thought back in the day , it would be a good idea to glue it down rather than leave as is , the bubble was never removed but just came away at the corner

it still is a nice piece

I know this seller and he is a top bloke - absolutely no worries with this guy
More than happy to vouch for him and any of his auctions :D

hello everyone on this thread, I'm the seller of this bargain DSD and wanted to let everyone know it is DEFINITELY a legit vintage piece, no worries at all there. The bubble DOES have lifting where the glue has dried, which while minor in terms of lift, the area where it has dried is kind of large, ie: from his his left hip to under his left foot. So that's really the only thing holding this piece back. So its a great deal as far as having a lovely display piece, its a jem for that, but wouldn't do AFA/UKG grading etc. Huge thanks to DB94 for drawing my attention to this discussion, and for vouching for my character as a business-person, very much appreciated mate. If I can answer any other questions please let me know, Kind regards, Brendan

Brendan

Great to see you posting on here - please stick around and spend some time on here. As a collector yourself you'll find this place a goldmine of information and the banter is great as well :D
