Advice on a purchase

you can't change currency mid auction, so it must have been in US dollars - it's a bit odd but plenty do it. It means you get more US bids.

Looks like the booze was affecting your eyesight :wink:
 
Aye it could well be, maybe i just assumed an Aussie auction was Aussie dollars.....ah well you learn from your mistakes, i certainly wont be bidding on anything after a bottle of wine again. :)
 
Yeah, they're right it was US dollars! Looks like it was legit after all.
Quite a few people who are listing in Australia list in US dollars if they're looking at pushing it worldwide, as the Australian dollar is such a small market, many people haven't got a clue what the Aussie dollar is worth (bugger all). Buyers are often more comfortable bidding in a currency the understand.
Still think you did the right thing tho...
