A really good Star Wars video game

I've got Battlefront on the PS2 and I do like it. It's got issues though, you get killed and re-spawned and all that and it gets annoying after a while. Also the gameplay's not great, the aiming/crosshairs and look speed etc are a bit rough and it auto-aims which I don't like. Especially if you compare it to other games of the time like Medal of Honour or SOCOM which play much better. I want something along the same lines as Battlefront with great levels on all the different planets and environments but playing as just one person and with the gameplay of Halo Reach/Halo 4. I would like to check out new games but I don't have an Xbox One or PS4 and I'm not planning on getting either just yet (I'm generally at least one console behind the latest one ). I suppose if they do bring out a good Star Wars game I'll have to treat myself.

I think you will have to treat yourself

My faves:
Lego Star Wars II (original trilogy) is brilliant too.

I forgot all about the Lego games...

I can't recommend the Orginal Trilogy enough, entertaining and very easy to pick up and play with soooooo much extra content...

I ignored it for ages thinking it was a 'kiddies game', which it is, just a very very good one.

There have been some great Star wars games in the past, the Vector Style arcade game, I enjoyed Return of the Jedi on the Atari ST, Super Star wars on SNES, Rogue Squadron on the N64 and Battlefront on the PS2.

Unfortunately I have not ever had a gaming PC set up so I haved missed out on some great titles on the PC. Some of the Call of Duty Star Wars mods look good too.

If you want a simple first person shooter though Battlefront provides this, especially the Jedi-free first version. If that isn't enough for you Battlefront 3 is on its way for PS4 and Xbox One, hopefully this will quench our thirst. Play it as a first person shooter or jump in a vehicle and kick arse for any side seen in the films...

I can't wait for this and won't be going next gen until it arrives...

Same situation for me too. Xbox1 can wait till this game gets released.

Ssssshhh i got ****in' crucified by the Playstation bumboys last week! Even got a pm from Chubbs along the lines of can we meet up, i'll bring my dads prize parsnip, you get hold of the lube? :?

You know you want to join our gta crew

I never get bored of the force powers on Force Unleashed. Hurling Stormies around is ****ing classic.

Battlefront was good for its day but seem to recall it being repetitive. Star Wars on the NES was great. Still remember the music and that crazy flying through the asteroid field level.

  The lies!!!!! Everyone knows I use beetroot, its self lubricating

Xbox rules. I used to be a Playstation user but I defected when Xbox released Obiwan IV been hooked ever since. Battlefront 1 was good but as it's been mentioned it does get repetitive. Some of the cube titles were good. I agree too that the classic Lego Star Wars games were awesome but a tad repetitive too.

I guess it depends if you like platform games, but IMO the best ever Star Wars video games are the three SNES ones. They rival most platform games for playability, and they really capture the atmosphere of the films well too, the music and graphics are brilliant even now. They are pretty true to the films too.

Never tried any of the SNES ones. I might have to revisit some of the older Cube ones some day soon tho.

The SNES ones are classics and well playable but for me they suffered from being up against two of the best games ever made; Street Fighter II and Super Mario Kart. Me and my mates were caining those two games so much nothing much else got a look in!

Good call Rob...

The Super Star wars games were good but SF2 and Mario Kart stole the show, SF2 has aged better and the Original Mariokart had the best battlemode of the whole series (feather never made it to another version). I played Super Star Wars recently on an emulator, it was not as enjoyable as I remembered it but it still holds good memories. Multiplayer fun smashed SSW out of the water and we devoted hours to SF2 and MK. Donkey Kong Country was my favourite SNES platformer.

I was never into Nintendo before these games were releases, I have never been without a Nintendo since. A classic gaming era.
