Just looking again at an 8D8 I got recently and noticed that it's right shin and foot are missing their silver paint. (see photo) Had a quick search on ebay for anything similar carded or otherwise but couldn't see any.

Anybody else seen this before. I know there are variations in rhe circles on the thighs but not seen this before.

Never seen one like that before, but I think it's more of a factory error than a variatian...............but I could be wrong!

Now, if you could find one that that had just the other leg painted, you'd have a matching pair.

Thanks to Fitzy this is in its new home!

Just wanted to add that since I bought this , I have seen another 2 with the same paint error but none on the left shin and foot so far.
Now I don't know for sure but I am guessing the paint was applied to the figures via a machine, using a mask/template??

I was wondering if perhaps a certain factory had a faulty machine?
Or the machinery was prone to blocking on the right side when paint was applied.

I have seen two MOC examples and one baggie, and also a loose one !

The strange(Or perhaps not) thing is the loose one was Lili Ledy.

I know that the LL factories got their machinery and molds from Kenner for production so I guess they had the same problem?

Great purchase mate. You'll have to get some photos on of your collection.

I would love to see them.

Why 8D8 for your focus??

Thanks Burnsy!

Ok, all sitting comfortably?

I was born in 1984 so I missed the films BUT inherited the toys from my 10+ years older cousins from both sides of the family, I had all these cool toys but no idea who or what they were, then I read books on the films and the novels and had some idea of who they were!
When I was chucking my ewoks around the garden and squashing them with my AT-AT (who normally snuck up from behind the shed or tree) I wanted to also play inside and have battles with humans and robots!

So 8D8 served as my squad commander/leader of all the stormtroopers I had ( I guess because they were white as he was and he looked scarier)

I thought the stormtroopers were actually robots and the insignia on the back read OIL (check your figures ;) ) - anyway! as I had no name for 8D8 or cardbacks to go by, and he wasn't represented or pictured in any literature I had at the time I nicknames him "the white skinny droid"

And so.......I got an online name and a favourite figure from my childhood!

Seemed like a natural progression as I have always gone by the name whiteskinnydroid on starwars sites and when I wanted to collect again but not get too expensive he was the perfect choice!

:D

 If someone wants to free up a few more things for me I might be willing to share the pictures!

Someone on the boards has a MOC I really want lol but he won't budge!

Seriously, I will try do a group shot soon, maybe middle of next month, its not a huge collection but I have tried to do quality over quantity for the time being, instead of buying a load of old tat and having to upgrade.
Plus it's a challenge to find things in c8 or above!
