Share your top 3 of all time, it could be any object from anything pop culture, fictional or real, vintage or modern, from anything including ships, vehicles, weapons, to buildings or gadgets, and clothing etc etc.

It can't be a person or character, just objects only, here's mine...

1. Millennium Falcon
2. Lightsaber
3. Gameboy

And a very close 4th... He-Man's power Sword.

In order for me has to be these. Although number 1 could be any vintage Star Wars toy and 2, 3 and 4! That's a bit boring and there was a lot more to my childehood than Star Wars, honestly!

AT-AT
General Lee
Castle Grayskull

Oh and shell suits.

Don't know about Pop Culture but I felt pretty cool back then when I was

Riding my 1983 Californian mongoose with yellow skyway tuff's (although I always wanted light blue but could not get them) . early 80's
Driving my white 1967 (one year only sloping headlights but ball joint front suspension) vw beetle, (curse the day I sold that car in 1992 every day)
My palitoy x wing which I still have

still have the bmx but not in the condition it was back then :) every now and then I get the bmx out and do some jumps and bunny hops in the street but no one wants to see a fat dad doing that, my daughters filmed it once not a pretty sight but instantly transported back to the early 80's

As a kid I always wanted a 1983 Mongoose Californian or Supergoose, but had to make do with a 1983 Akisu. The BMX is an awesome iconic piece of 80s culture and as an adult I gravitate to the "rad" colours of the Raleigh Burner. I still love BMX Bandits with Nicole Kidman... even though it's a pretty naff film compared to day the Goonies, ET etc, it still looks effortlessly cool and evokes so many happy childhood memories.

Iv'e changed my mind, my no.3 He-Man 'Power Sword' iv'e replaced with the Gameboy which I had a lot more love for, so the Power Sword takes a close 4th.

Also I remember drooling over the xmas catalogue every year and the one time I remember begging my mom to get me one of those electric 4x4 kids cars that you sit in, I imagined very visual thoughts of me ripping it around the neighbourhood speeding around enjoying life and jumping over bumps and ramps. Lets just say am I glad she never got it because it cost hundreds of pounds and would have been a big waste for her and me, they only go about 1 mile an hour and remember my mom telling me no I can't have it and they only go really slow so it's not worth it, I did not believe her.

the love for BMX in this thread pleases me greatly! :D

once it's in your blood it never leaves. I used to ride in the 80s, gave up in '86, and then started again in 2013. am hoping to be able to qualify for the (amateur) world champs again next year!!

as for top three pop culture icons?

Raleigh Burner (though I'd go for the Extra Burner, in red and white as that's what I had)
R2-D2
and a Ford Capri... it just screams 80s to me!

Well, there's more BMX love coming up from me! The BMX deserves to be on this list for me, as I loved them as a kid and teenager. The picture below is of my one, and I really, REALLY wish I still had it... God, I loved that thing!

Anyway, here's my list:

1) (My) BMX

2) The Ferrari 288 GTO (quite simply the best looking car ever made, IMHO!)

3) The Palitoy Death Star (another childhood fave I still adore to this day. I regard it as the greatest toy ever made)

And one honourable mention goes to 'Into the Groove' by Madonna. I like this song a lot, but it isn't my favourite, and that's not why it's (nearly) on this list. This thread is basically another nostalgia-fest, and for me no song more perfectly captures my teenage years than this one. The second it starts playing I am transported back to my youth and memories and feelings (both good and bad) come flooding back.

Anyway, here's the picture disc:

I wasn't expecting such an amount of love for the BMX in people's top 3, I never had a BMX but i'm a little younger than most on here and I don't think it was as much of a 'thing' by the time I got to 10 years +, less than 10 years old I was more into scooters and pedal go-karts.

I do remember my older brother was into BMX's a lot though and he was a 70's child, and I remember there being a large BMX dirt track round by where I lived in the early 80's with ramps and car tires for barriers where he used to go to when he was about 10 or 11 and quite a lot of other kids about his age or older went there. But by the time I reached about 10 the track was gone and everyone seemed to have mountain bikes instead including myself.

Weird how trends change so quickly!
