The Scotland national team have suffered badly in the past 20 years with non Scots playing in the premier league. As you may have noticed we don't make the world cup/euros anymore.

The top stars in the English premier league are non English - I think it's really starting to show on the national team.

England should have won the world cup in 1990 - I think 94 was a blip to be honest

Who'd have forecast that before the tournament kicked off.

England, Spain plus one of Italy or Uruguay all out at group stage, most open World Cup in a long time.

Whose everyone's bet on at the current moment?

Brazil? Argentina? Germany? Holland?

Still Brazil/Argentina final for me. The Europeans dont deal well with the Southern American conditions

Funny Liam, I'd have more confidence in the latter two rather than the former.

Brazil have looked distinctly mediocre so far. It's not as if the pressure is getting to them, they just aren't very good.
Haven't seen Argentina yet but I heard they weren't exactly impressive either.

It's definitely very open, would be nice to see someone new win it, but it'll probably end up being ruddy Germany!

Ohh and yes, we can chalk up another woeful refereeing decision for that non penalty. Have FIFA not realised the referees are ruining their WC?

Germany for me at the moment, I would have said Holland after their first match against Spain too. Proper teams with proper players.

Gutted England are out, don't these overpaid wastes of space realise we only get this once every 4 years, 2 games is not enough

Yep Germany look the deal at the moment. But like Liam said the Europeans traditionally don't fair well in the Americas

With a team of relative nobodies as well. Not a single 'world class' player in their squad.

True. Switzerland have blown up here. So many goal have come from them giving it away or ****ing up at the back.

Probably enjoy it more now England are out, can't wait for Uruguay v Italy match, winner qualifies loser goes home, what a game that's going to be.

Agreed on both.

I don't know who i fancy to win Italy v's Uruguay. Neither side has exactly looked good so far.

I know who i fancy to win between Costa Rica and Engerlund, and it sure as **** ain't England!
