2 MORE WINNERS!! NOW ON SUNDAY!!

Guys thank you so much.

I will be running in the Reading Half Marathon this Sunday (my 41st Birthday) in the costume. This will be the furthest i've run in it.
The most so far has been 10 miles. I'm trying to strike the right balance between running in it and not ruining it. It is taking a bit of a battering.

What's heartwarming is the sponsorship and support i am getting from you guys and the general public.
I went out last night for a training run. In addition to the countless, beeps, waves, light flashes etc from passing motorists, i got a high five from a late teenager/early 20 year old lad. he saw me again about 30 minutes later, ran up to me and said "you must be doing this for a charity, here take this" and shoved a fiver in my hand. It really made my day. :D

SWFUK Rock

All updated, thanks lads.
I'll add up the total SWFUK sponsorship so far tomorrow :D

Lads, it's a big day tomorrow for me; i'll be running the Reading Half Marathon in the Stormtrooper Costume. :D

I've just had a quick add up, there are still a couple of figures i need to double check as a some sponsorship came in as 'anonymous' so i'm about 99% sure of the SWFUK tally so far and it's a whopping £491! :D :D Thats nearly 25% of my total sponsorship!

Thank you. Right, i'm of to get my head down!

PS Please double check that i've got you on the list if you've sponsored. A few folk have said they will sponsor but i can't find there details on just giving. It is possible they/you are one of the anonymous ones. Please double check!

Good luck for tomorrow Jez, just a nice easy half marathon aye...... no problem

Someone got on GMTV this morning!

Pic with the black presenter (can't remember his name) who ran the half marathon, plus a tweet! Fame at last Jez!!

Guys, I know that everyone is being really supportive of what Jez is doing here, but I think as a reasonably experienced runner it would be interesting to share my perspective on how he's really getting on.

Jez's running dressed as a Stormtrooper (which on the face of it is mental), but I really think it's worth noting that he's actually running at a very decent pace. His time at the Reading Half Marathon was simply brilliant. Many 'average' runners have a goal of training for 3 months and getting round 13.1 miles in just under 2hrs... 1:59:59 is a dream to them. I know many guys that have run 10 or more Half's and have never got under 2:15.

Jez in full armour, ran it in just over 2:12!! Less than a minute a mile slower that the dream time of most of the field in their perfect sports gear that is of course designed to get them round quick... Jez though I repeat did that time IN FULL ARMOUR!

The body temperature issues alone mess with my head, I've run a 5k (3.1 miles) in full X-Wing pilot outfit (ironic given his focus  ) and it was horrible, hot, uncomfortable... I wouldn't want to do a half, let alone a marathon in an outfit like that, the armour can only be worse. Certainly not a vest and shorts...

Massive respect for what has already been achieved, London will be longer (obviously) and having run both, I'm sorry to say that London is far harder than the course at Reading too.

Keep digging deep chaps, he's really earning every penny of this money for the charity!

Pah, that's nothing I once did 5k in a Santa outfit  :D

Wow, thanks very much guys.

Quick update for you; yesterday was a bloody lick out. I had serious doubts at times and did think that i hadn't appreciated exactly how hard it would be. It was hot, really hot and i was a bit worried that i'd have problems. Having said that i loved it!

The Reading Half Marathon yesterday was unbelievable. It was extremely warm and hard going but the reaction to the running Stormtrooper totally pulled me through. One guy even yelled "Traitor" at me!

I spent the whole run waving at the crowd, thanking them for their support and high fiving all of the kids. The reaction when i ran into the Reading Football Stadium at the end was unbelievable, i'll never forget it. My chip time was 2hr 12. My gun time was 2hr 23 (it took 11 minutes to pass the start line). Oh and i stopped for a minute on route as a pub was offering free beer so i did stop for a tiny drink of beer. It wasn't much at all but it felt good to be a rebel as well as a Stormtrooper!

The Facebook and Twitter feeds have gone crazy, especially after one of the numerous fun "Selfies" i gladly agreed to was taken by Sean Fletcher the ITV sports commentator from Good Morning Britain (i had no idea at the time). He put the selfie on TV this morning at 0630 and 0800, then sponsored me also, top lad.

Brilliant stuff Jez - the marathon will be a breeze!
Thanks dude but i'm really not sure about that!

I'm so chuffed with how you guys are doing!
Look at the first post/page, 43 of you have now donated and are in the Prize Draw.
That makes this (3rd one) the most successful Prize Draw on here ever! Well done :D

Finally got round to donating. All the best for next week Jez. Gutted I won't be there to shout you on. Will make sure to record it as I'm sure the TV will pick up on your epic run!

:)
