FS 10 original 1980 ESB tickets.

The first public screening of The Empire Strikes Back was at the charity event for the Special Olympics on May 17th 1980, attended by the cast & crew of the film.

On May 21st, the film opened to the public at 2 special midnight showings at the UA Egyptian LA & the UA 150 Theater Seattle. The UA 150 Seattle holds the record for showing the ESB for the longest single run at 61 weeks solid. It showed the film in it's 70mm format, the cut from which some of the SE was made, combining with the later 35mm release.

Here's the UA 150 Theater before it was demolished:

As well as being the first place to show the ESB, on May 19th 1980, the UA 150 Seattle held an advance/private screening, this was 2 days before the film opened. Tickets were printed with the ESB "A" poster image. A few tickets were left over. Nice bit of ESB history.

I have a group of 10 of these original tickets if anyone is interested. They are a good size, 4" x 9.25", condition is good, minor edge wear & small creases only, no rips, no fading.

Withdrawn

They look great framed in pairs with one facing one way & one facing the other so both sides can be seen:
