£10k Jawa

Totally crazy.

It's cool that independently we all highlight the same madness...

Q: Hi 10k for a cloth jawa!!! think you have got your price mixed up with a palitoy vinyl jawa mate. Apr-13-15
A: I am aware that it's priced high, and no I haven't got it mixed up, that is why I have stated this in the description. I am asking others to make me an offer rather than go to auction & place a reserve on it. I have done this as A I don't want to sell it for £10 & B I am not sure on its true value. I know it could be hundreds so if you are interested and make an offer & it sounds reasonable then I may accept it. Thank you for your comment

"I am not sure on its true value" but "make an offer & it sounds reasonable then I may accept it"

He knows what it's worth to within £100 I'm betting, just hoping for a high offer I guess

Ok, I will now explain.

I posted valuations required for the three figures that I have as I have no clue what the values are for each.
I then got such a mixed reaction on the value of the items & as I'm not a collector I thought maybe if I ask for offers on eBay then it will be better than putting it in an auction & then put the wrong reserve on it as I wouldn't want it to sell for £10.

eBay does not allow you to do an offer only so as I don't know the value I priced it as a buy it now with offers. I wasn't expecting 10k for it as I explained this in the description.
I then realised the reaction I was getting & reduced the buy it now price.

I opologise if this has caused such an issue. I still don't know what the true values really are as now your saying one went for £1400. So I'm getting the values from £100 to £1400.
I would like to sell all the figures I've got & I would like a fair price as anyone else would.

Kris, eBay is the place to get the highest price in my opinion.

Personally I'd list it on a 10 day auction starting Thursday evening (so it finished Sunday evening when eBay is busiest) with a 99p starting price and offer postage to everywhere (make sure to check the prices, it only takes a couple of min online).

Ignore all the silly offers you get and let it ride, I guarantee it will not go for £10 but it will sell for what it's worth. Put lots of good photos on and you'll do well.

Good luck!

There's nothing to apologise for.

The thing is though, by putting a completely unrealistic offer of £10k on it, people just think you're an idiot. It's not that difficult to find some recent prices, the Vectis website for example if there's none recently on ebay, or the valuations you got on here. I'm pretty sure no one valued the Jawa at close to £10k wherever you've asked ...

As it happens, much nicer ones than yours have gone for £1k-£1.5k, so if you'd then put on something like that then you might have got some action, wheras at £10k all you're getting is hassle :p

Good luck with the sale.

Amen brother ,

If you had sold it on here you would also have saved ebay commission and PayPal fees . You would also got a fair price .

But good luck with sale

Steve

Hey Kris. I see you have resisted the Palitoy Jawa as an auction. Just thought you should know the second picture is not of a 12 Back, thought you might want to change it. All the best in the sale!!
