This will be an amazing auction. They have planned it well to coincide with Celebration London the previous weekend. Know your limits, but you gotta be in it to win it!

Just seen this on FB, apparently all three were hiding in the box behind them!

Thats one hell of an auction. I wonder how the exchange rate will affect this. Maybe some travellers who are visiting the UK for celebration could be in for a special treat afterwards.
So many great items. I won't win any though

Guys just a question about vectis if anyone could help.
I have never been on the site or bought any items.
Can you get a few bargins or not? Or is it used mainly by you guys if you see a rare piece your after.
I presume if it's an auction it's hard to get a bargain? So I should really only log on if there is some item I really want and expect to pay the going rate?

Col,
Funny you should say that..
i was rather miffed that i saw a dozen cards or so i have previously tried to sell on behalf of friends in the same or even better condition than those listed at 70-80% of their estimates and no takers..Not only are some of the values low to entice the punters, once drawn in, you gotta add their commission. You will do far better here or on ebay..

I'll be honest, your unlikely to pick up a bargain at Vectis now - and especially in their next sale

One way or another they have gotten themselves into a position where they are the go-to auction house for vintage Star Wars - almost to the point where I can see people sending them items for the US. This means that they have so much goodness that it just won't fly under the radar - it is like adding a Blue Snag or a Yak Face to you eBay auctions - everyone comes to have a lot and see what you have

If you get lucky then people may be concentrating on something else but in general I find the sales price (before their commission) is often above market price

Ok thanks guys at least I know what to expect if I ever do try vectis. I mostly buy on here the forum for anything I need now I haven't been on eBay for awhile.
I find the forum a more honest place to buy items price ways. Along with the seller's I have delt with I have to say all have been top blokes.

The catalogue is up, and it's bloody mind blowing, and at the same time gutting to see all the stuff I'll never own :(

Flipping heck

Some of the stuff is mind blowing.

Just so happens I'm off work those two days, and thankfully the wife (who just looked at the catalogue with me) knows exactly what I'll be doing for two days

Have I been around too long? What's mind blowing in it? It's cool - no doubt, but nothing on there I haven't seen before, or even over the past year or two.

PBP items, Ledy, Takara, amazing miscards, and lots of weird items I've not seen. I thought some very nice pieces, especially in one auction. Maybe I've been around too short a time :D

The Jedi printing plate, Palitoy blue prints for Earl's Court, Fett carded bootleg, Ewok masks and C3PO Spanish costume boxed.... there is a lot of stuff there.
