Holy moley, that is quite a diverse collection. Working on the belief that the photo is real then it cant be earlier than 2000 as you can spot the Amidala hairpiece from The Phantom Menace.

8DB is back there too, and the crate from Raiders!

I'm pretty sure that's the Lucasfilm Archive:

Yeah I believe it is a picture from the LFL archive, peekay is right.

Judging from the file name of the picture you saved slim you may have got it from this article on the Polish Star Wars site: http://www.starwarsy.pl/opowiadania/wywiad_home.htm (interview with Gerald Home)

That 8D8 model did the rounds with the Star Wars Identities Exhibit, interestingly it doesn't appear to be the same as the one seen in ROTJ (unless it was repainted? not sure if I can see the original paint underneath or not) - the chest paint is totally different.

It's a travelling exhibition but I'm not sure of all the countries they've taken it to. Looks like it will be coming (back?) to France in 2015: http://www.ticketmaster.fr/fr/manifestation/star-wars-identities-billet/idmanif/324519/idtier/15011761

I made the trip over to Paris to see the Star Wars Identities exhibition and personally found it to be a bit lacking.

The captioning on the displays wasn't great, literally only one or two of them declare 'screen used' which leaves you doubting the rest (such as the 8DB pictured above). Regardless I did love looking at the models and costumes, but it felt as if the organisers didn't have enough faith in them as a draw so they have structured the exhibition around choosing your 'identities'. If you have ever played a computer role-playing game then this 'identities' stuff is rather like the create a character section at the start of the game... you pick whether you're light side or dark side, you pick the planet you grew up on, you move on a bit to the next part of the exhibiton and then you pick your profession, etc it's pretty weak and imho detracts from the props and models rather than enhances them.

Yeah prop exhibitions are strange things, I went to one in London back in 2007 (think it was Westminster hall) and while it was great to see screen used props up close, the place they chose for the exhibition was really bad.

The biggest stuff (naboo fighter etc) was in a large hall which was set up quite nicely but to get to the OT stuff (far more interesting) you had to walk down a corridor (reminded me of school) almost single file while trying to look at the concept art on the walls, you couldn't really stop for long to have a look as people were shuffling down the corridor trying to get in the rooms where they had more props.

I remember when we had finished checking the exhibition out and were heading towards the exit we started looking for some place to buy a souvenir and didn't see anything. When we walked outside they actually had a little caravan thing outside opposite the doors which sold merchandise (lanyards and badges etc) it was all a bit strange..but then I guess it was 2007

The worst part of it all was that the only people dressed up in uniforms walking around were bloody clone troopers!

I think I went to the same exhibition they had a Fett costume which was actually bobamaker's
Replica, some of the artwork and stuff was nice to see though.

From what I saw at Elstree JJ has a wicked collection of props. Some truly amazing stuff. Shame all this stuff is shut away in storage units and private collections. I would give my right nut to get in there with my camera.

...I see the Ark of the Covenant is in that photo as well :)
