Turret/Probot Playset:

Cool playset that I have never seen for sale in denmark and I have never found it in a danish childhood lot. I don't think it was sold in denmark or maybe a few small toy stores have imported it, but I have not found any proof yet that it has been sold in denmark. So I did not have it as a kid in the good old 80s. I first learned about it in 2001.

It is a cool set, got the probot but not the turret etc. I'm sure I will get round to finding one eventually 👍👍

I love the Turret and Probot playset! As a kid, for me it was always streets ahead of the Imperial Attack Base, even though the latter did considerably more and was (I must grudgingly admit as an adult) actually the superior toy. However, the Imperial Attack Base wasn't in The Empire Strikes Back, whereas both a turret and a probot were! This made a real difference to me as a child :). Why would I want something that wasn't even in the film, when I could have something that was?! For that reason, I bought myself a T&P with my Christmas and birthday money as an 8 year-old, but never bothered with an IAB until adulthood :ROFLMAO:

I've upgraded my Palitoy T&P since the last TOTW thread, and so the one below is my current playset. However, I have owned several at one time or another over the years, so I also include a side-by-side shot of a pair of Palitoy and Kenner playsets I used to own :)

I should also downsize, but when I get a new job I will move and get a bigger place so I can have more star wars and all of it on display :ROFLMAO: The 2 you have for sale are they with box ?
Hi Lars lol sounds good. No unfortunately not one is complete minus the stickers the other has the turret but no probot or the stand for it.

Thanks mate for sharing this playset, they look fantastic (y)cool that you got money when you was 8 to buy star wars toy (y)

Palitoy. The only Kenner boxed items I have are ones that were not released in the UK, including ones where the UK had a different version, such as the death star/land of the Jawas etc.

Thanks, cool that it is a palitoy (y)

I like it, but I did feel the set was quite weak as an actual set, the turret & probot were great additions to the toys, but the set as a whole left a lot to be desired as it had very limited playability & was just to damn small, as an adult collector I have managed to find myself loose examples of both the turret & probot for the collection, can't say I am bothered about not having the base in the slightest, we could have done with more hoth related sets to recreate the scean, it sure would have saved me a huge upset with my mum when she came home to find I'd turned my bedroom into hoth, using up all 3 of her boxes of tissue for the snow in the process :ROFLMAO: wish I'd got some photos of what I made as it was epic, including a space for the flacon in the hanger, ah good memories.

LOVED this set as a kid! I don't have it anymore, but I do have this pre-production Toy Fair sample baggie Probe Bot. I also have a loose one on display next to my At-At.

I agree Frank, kenner did not make enough hoth toy for the scene. I used Cotton wool, my dad was not happy about that :ROFLMAO:

Ma I ask what evidence CAS had in terms of provenance on these?? as I have not heard a single thing about these so called toy fair sample pro bots

A couple of them turned up a few years back from an ex. Kenner employee. They were graded and sold. The baggie is a different from the unmarked production one.

I'm not trying to sell it, so I'm not sure why negative connotation. Feel free to contact CAS and ask them.

No worries, please do share if you find out anything new about them. :)
I will do, I sent Ross a message yesterday & have to go check see if I have a reply, I must admit I am skeptical as several very similar if not the same have done the rounds in years gone by, many coming from a know baggie faker, I do have one shown in the fakes section of the guide, maybe it is these he was hoping to replicate & yours is the real deal.

Great work frank I hope it is real so Kenner76 have not been tricked and somebody have sold him a fake one.

Well Ross has no role in the authentification/verification side of things so he kindly shared their email & I contacted them regarding this item, so far I seem to be dealing with someone who can't understand my questions regarding the item even though I have now laid it out specifically in 3 emails to them, if they can't provide some solid evidence regarding these then I shall remain skeptical at best.

I have asked them to plese provide some form of evidence/provenance regarding these being given out at a toy fair IE - which toy fair / what year / location etc & something more solid other that they have graded it, I remain hopeful yet as said skeptical due to the amount of them I have seen comeing from shall we say questionable sellers.

I do hope they come good with something solid to confirm these Kenner 76

Thank you so much for doing that and for sharing! CAS should not be grading and authenticating items if they don't have evidence that they are authentic. That's the whole purpose of purchasing graded items with coa's and it could tarnish their reputation.

indeed Kenner76, I have since not heard a word back from them, if they can't quantify an item with some form of provenance then it should never be graded, with luck they will indeed respond & provide some further insight, they were quick enough to respond the first 2 emails, but since silence.

I hope it is real, it not can kenner76 then get his money back ?
