I got chatting to someone at work about SW and mentioned that I'd only ever watched the special edition OT on Disney+. Amazingly, he brought in the 2006 original unaltered trilogy box set for me to borrow. Very excited to give it a watch when I get a spare moment! Anything in particular that I should look out for?

You'll notice that the SE had some very shonky cgi and extra, mostly unnecessary scenes. The SE weren't all bad- a lot of the matte lines were cleaned up etc and some of the flight scenes look better.

There are definitely a few scenes that I know weren't there originally so I'll be interested to see what else is a later addition. After 5 years of being obsessed with SW I think it's definitely time I watch them as they used to be!

Glad to hear your going to get to see it unaltered. Mine sadly got damaged. I'm sure you'll notice less cgi creatures. Let us know what you think!

I'm sorry to hear that! Yeah, when I sat down to properly watch new hope for the first time I remember thinking 'wait they had CGI in the 70s?' Before quickly realising (googling) it had been changed. I've got to wait to borrow my brother's dvd player but hopefully I'll get to watch it soon!
