So I decided to catalogue all of my Palitoy reseals and rebuilds today. I took photos of them all and beleive it or not there is not one single sealed moc figure here. Over the years I've purchased many cardbacks with minimal damage and grafted original bubbles onto the cards. I've also saved cards with nametags removed and slightly more damage purely due to the fact that this is Palitoy history and part of my childhood. These are all obviously repairs / bebuilds but some you would struggle to see whether they were sealed or not. I would hate to think that some of these cardbacks would have been butchered and used for repair jobs.

So starting with 12 and 20 backs.

Superb collection Lee, fantastic saves as well, looks amazing.
I have done something similar with mixed Pali/Kenner 21 back run ( just R5 that is eluding me, that I don't want to pay daft money)
great to see history retained and original cards saved in this way.
for me ( am sure for you also) gives you a buzz when you complete a project, looking for original bubbles/footers etc and then bringing an item back to life

congrats mate, looks fantastic!

Thanks Mike. I beleive we should do everything we can to save pieces. There are a few that nametags removed or other card damage but for the most part it's original bubbles grafted onto really good condition cards. A few ive repaired around the bubble area. When I eventually get my bigger room I will have them displayed all the time.

I've no doubt that within the next few years we are going to see really good reproduction Palitoy cards because many people want them , but to me its knowing these actually sat on UK toy shop shelves. Collecting has gone in so many different directions as of late and will only change more, so it's good to make sure we keep these vintage pieces going.

These look amazing Lee and you've done such a great job putting them together. I'm another massive fan of reseals (as you know well), and in a way, the fact that these figures were played with at some point before being sealed up is another big appeal for me. I remember buying my Palitoy figure back in the day (which I've recently been reunited with), and having a set of the first 30 released, played with and then resealed brings a smile to my face whenever i see them.

I know reseals aren't for everyone but you're right in saying that some of these card backs and parts probably would have gone to waste and this is a great way of keeping them alive.

Mate these are fantastic! Great way to give an old cardback a new lease of life. They display wonderfully, congratulations on a great collection.

Those look great. It takes a lot of patience and skill to get reseals/rebuilds to look as good a quality as those. Do you have them on display?

Thanks chaps. It's taken years for me to get this far with Palitoy and I've achieved a few personal goals. I remember when Gary showed me his set in 2002, and it made me want it someday. Yeah they are all reseals but to me they look the same. Even remember when Mr Preston made me a custom Palitoy Sandtrooper in 2002 aswell. Of course Ian is largely to blame too, if it wasn't for him I would never have done this. I did he 12 back set in just over a year I think!

Sadly mate, no. A year or so after, I split from my ex and had to sell everything :(

Thing is I always promised myself I'd return to where I was in collect and I did...and some...

Sorry, not sure how I missed this magnificent post! What a wonderful array of stellar reseals! Fantastic work. Thank you so much for sharing them and congratulations on your dedication, skill and effort to assemble them.
