You buy a figure off ebay decribed as C9.5/10 and you wait for the postman to bring you your much loved childhood figure. The postman arrives and you open it up all excited with a big cheesy grin on your face......and.......and.......you say........WHAT THE F**KS THIS!!!!! Your blood starts to boil and you want to jump in the car and drive the figure back to seller and shove it down his throat yelling C10!!!! I've give you C10!!!!!

Its so annoying!

:| the C system is flawed as it is objective. its like the whitewater grading system, Class 1 to 5 , what i would consider a 4 would be a 5/6 to beginners or the other way around if you had no idea of the hazards.

for really serious collectors they may have seen case fresh examples of a figure or a pristine "u" (shudder,) figure, but other collectors may not have.

But politely return it explaining this and lean the response as advice on grading, and offer to give opinions on future items they are listing (they wont ask) and that should get your cash back easily.

then go buy one from someone you have bought from before or you know, as you will have a better idea of what they call mint.

:) i have learnt this the hard way over the last year,, stormie look awfully white under a flash

You're definitely not the first to suffer that, and unfortunately won't be the last.
That's why I hate the C grading system.

I agree with that but i think in Chewie's case and in many cases on ebay, people are just straight up lying just to make a sale. Then they use the "but it's subjective" argument to get round it.
Best thing you can do now is leave them a massive "NEG" and name and shame them here.

may i suggest an alternative system;

Perfect - no marks paint fade nothing wrong at all.

ok - Something minor or rubbed/scratched

crap - may have been chewed by baby/dog , could have been on fire at one stage.

or alternatively lots of good quality photos?

This is the reason I never buy c graded figures and NEVER EVER EVER sell my figures with a c grade. Everybodys opinion is different so a c grade system will NEVER work. I allways sell my figures based on howmuch playwear/ paintwear they have. That way if the buyer has a problem with it then it's their fault for not reading the auction properly.
As a c grading system goes, I really do believe there would be very few true c10 figures in existence. A c10 figure would have to be flawless including flawless factory paintwork. Just see how many u graded figures afa have given 100 to. I bet it's not many!!
Sorry for the ramble!! Just my personal opinion!

He's giving me a refund so thats half the battle, but its just really annoying when you study the photo of the figure they are selling, and read the listing to make sure its all good......Then they send you a figure that is CLEARLY NOT the one in the photo! The one in the photo looked absolutely mint :( I wish i could have had that figure instead of the refund.

His excuse was "I must have sent you the wrong figure"

Funny you should mention this. I bought a couple of figures from him a couple of weeks ago and they looked mint in the pictures.

The figures that arrived were completely different as they had different coo's on the legs from the mint ones pictured.

He obviously uses stock photos for all his figures and sends out **** ones instead!!!!! Same as you I had to send em back for a refund.
