I think saying "only" is a bit rich when it sold for £320 plus fees on the 24th August

Even accounting for fees and postage that's about 15% inflation in 6 weeks, or in payday loans terms 130% annually

Good luck with the sale tho.

**** me, tbh it is irrelevant what he paid, which wont be far away from what he is asking, maybe 40 quid or so, if a figure has increased in value then whats the problem, if you had a figure that you bought for £100 and now it is worth £200 would you sell it for £100??? would you bollocks, and saying good luck with the sale after you just ****ed up his for sale thread is the pits!

I make it a variance of just over £53.20, but he will have paid for postage from Vectis (which is usually as top end as you can pay....) out of that and then he is including postage himself in his asking price, I presume this would be with a good level of insurance...
So actually not a big profit at all, a few quid at most, seems an unfair post to call him out like that.

Yep, that'll be this sales post completely ruined then.

I'm offering postage as well, which will obviously be special delivery, and once you've packed a MOC figure safely for postage, the special delivery price isn't cheap. As pointed out the hammer price was £320, but I then paid commision, and then VAT on top of that figure, and then postage cost charged by Vectis.

I'm essentially selling it with a £30 wiggle room

So to the two people who "Hung me out to dry" and quite happily call me a "Cheeky sod", can I ask you this...

Who's behaviour is actually in question here?.

You should be ashamed of yourself :(

Still don't understand why you felt the need to make any profit. You've probably had it in your possession less than a month. Perhaps you like to enlighten us as to the need to make £50 for nothing, and perhaps those defending him could enlighten us as to why they should potentially pay £50 more for an item they could've bought last month for £50 less.

I've seen plenty of good guys on here say I bought this item a few weeks ago, don't want it now so selling for what I paid for it. They don't feel the need to make a profit.

And as for the mathematicians, I'd added on about a tenner for Vectis post and the rest for the sellers postage, so purchase price was within couple of quid £ of £400 which makes £50 profit for doing nothing.

Your response will help people decide whether you're bring a cheeky sod

This is bullshit, it's his figure and can sell it for what he wants. Bang out of order.

Given the current market it's not an unrealistic price, and if he has priced it too high it won't sell.

And for those tripping over themselves to defend him, think about what you collect and then ask yourself how you'd feel if you'd bid on something last month and now find it for sale at 20% extra on here. I'm sure you wouldn't be too happy.

Calling someone out on what they've done looks crappy and I thought hard about whether to post it, but the facts are the facts and the seller can obviously give their reasons to justify the increased price.

I paid £396.80 including fees for this figure, and I bought a number of other items from auction, when Vectis posted it out to me on the 8th september they charged exactly £40 for delivery, and I'm happy to show this on my bank statement, or you're welcome to contact Vectis for confirmation.

I'm paying special delivery which will be approx £12-£15, maybe even closer to £20 depending on how big the box ends up getting.

Does all this make me a cheeky sod who should be "hung out to dry"?.

No.

Ok it's less than £50 profit, it's maybe £35 once you share the postage around.

People will make their own minds up whether you're being cheeky or not.

This is worse than ****ing Facebook.

On FB he'd have had to ask the previous owner whether he was allowed to sell it or not, and they normally just say "same price as I bought it for" on there. So not much like FB at all.

Hammer price is £320
Fees therefore using Vectis (and not a third party bidding site which would add a further 1%) is a cost of £76.80 (or £80 if on third party)
The variance between asking price and hammer price plus fees is therefore £53.20
However...
The cost of pick/pack and shipping from Vectis was likely a further £15-18(?)
The cost of shipping by the seller now is likely £9-10 (?)
Both to be deducted from the 'profit'
So the profit is actually more like £27-28

I see the point of internally questioning as to why he should make a profit, but you can also ask why not... its hardly a lot of cash in the scheme of the item and the hassle of buying it, receiving it, packing it agin himself... not to mention that he may feel he paid less than market.

If you hadn't incorrectly suggested he was making 15% profit it may have sold, it may also not have sold and needed a reduction in a week or so, with us all finding the market value in the process. Sadly we are unlikely to now know the correct number it could have sold for.

BTW, nett of fees, two lots of postage its 7.05%... less than half of your initial claim.

Maybe we do all do it but I would never do it on SWFUK.

You may have your morals slightly skewed.

You wouldn't profit from a member, but you're happy to treat them like **** for no good reason, and make them feel awful.

Anyway, well done, you've treated me like ****, ruined my sales thread for no good reason, and I've withdrawn it.

Never again.

If it was an instant flip from a forum member I may have a different view. But it was purchased from an Auction site which means it could easily have been purchased under it's true value. The sale price here is certainly no one else's business.

I recently bought a bargain joblot on Ebay. I'm not going to sell it cheap purely because I had the fortune of gaining it at a low price. The same can be applied to VJ's sale.

I don't think I would have been so polite if it were my sale.
