Didn't find a topic for my question, so here's a new one.
Please remove (or delete ...) if required.

Just got this cardback for Yan Solo. I know, this is a hell of a beater.
What suprises me, when I hold it in hands now is, that there is absolutely no damage at the blister area.
I know, the blisters on Meccano cards are not glued very well, but I simply can't see anything that gives me a hint that there was a blister at anytime.
Anyone knows of blisters falling off that smooth or were there any promotional cards around (like for the TVC).
Maybe it's fake - but who would beat up a fake card like this (just to make it look vintage style)

I wouldn't put it past fakers to 'distress' a card on purpose.

One thing I cant tell from the pic is the smell (vintage has a good aged smell!) and also the level of grime. It's easy to fake rips and folds but hard to fake grime.

If you find no grime and no smell, then maybe it is a distressed fake?

It's a real card, no doubt about that. If it's the same one I'm thinking of then it's been on eBay for a really long time. I always thought it was likely an unused card with damage much like this Trilogo Leia Bespin that surfaced randomly: http://forum.trilogo.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=509 (Seller also had what appeared to be an unused 65 back Palitoy Stormtrooper card too)

My example has a very clean bubble loss, but nothing like that!
I actually love it being so beaten up; great score 8)

Thanks for your clue - it definately has this smell.

Yep, it's this card. After a few messages I got it for a (nearly) fair price.
Thank you so much for the link and your estimate. Would be nice to have an unused cardback.
What is strange, that these card are all in such bad condition and obviously owned by kids. As on many cardbacks there are some figures marked on the back.
