YPS Snowtrooper, real or fake?

Apart from the COO scar & gun, how do you identify if the figure itself is/isn't YPS/Tri Logo?
Are there fake YPS Snowtrooper guns around? If so, how do you identify them?

You can see from the plastic on the chest and helmet that this is a Tri/YPS figure.

I believe the Tri-Logo and YPS Snowtrooper are the same it is just the weapon that distinguishes it being YPS. YPS was simply a comic that had a Tri Logo SnowT on it but with a weapon from another toy line (GI Joe I think). Not sure on any markings on the rifle that would prove it being leggit. The legs are slightly splayed and the skirt looks good with the correct holes.

The Scarred COOs are slightly different too (can't remember how off the top of my head) -could be this is just a tri stormtrooper paired up with an AF gun

Where's Gustie??

Hey hey Stu, Gustie is not the only one with some variant knowledge.... :D

@ Emiel,

looking at the COO scar and the figure itself i can say it's YPS i am pretty confident off that.
About the cape, most repro capes have a single hole like the tri/yps ones so you can't tell for sure untill you have it in your hands. (feel the material). Also the yps guns do have repro versions, so it's very hard to tell from a pic (but the bended tip gives me the feeling it's a real one) but this you'll also can tell for sure when you have it. If you need any help with indentifying the gun and cape afterwards let me know i might be able to help you out on those.

Anyway, figure looks great. top buy mate.

Cheers, Dennis.

The cape has only a hole instead of 2 holes and a slit- **** that sounds wrong  Sounds like instructions for Bollux in Thailand :)

Ohh don't worry he knows what he's doing with the lady boys! :?

Thanks guys, yeah i knew about the cape holes instead of slits (forgot to mention it). So you tell repro capes & YPS gun by the feel (ie the usual way).
I'm interested because i have one on the way too...

these are the 5 scared out versions i have so far.
they dont look to clear but they are not erased one's.
if that makes sense

Yeah the cape is easy to spot by feeling it, thickness and softness. an original YPS cape feels diffirent compared to an regular hoth troopers cape, but also different as an repro cape. To learn to know the difference you should buy an repro cape and compare it.

This is how i startted off, i bought an set off all repro weapons and repro capes and used this as to learn to spot the difference btween repro and original. About the the rifle, this you can tell by looking at it, there is always a difference in plastic between repro and original weapons also the molds can vari.

By the way, there are repro yps guns, but there also alot off original ones since this weapons also could be found in a GI joe action pack. (Like star wars had the hoth pack with backpacks, gasmasks and rifles.)
By the way if you need an YPs rifle search such an sealed Gi joe pack (these are fairly cheap) and you'll get yourself an 100% authentic yps gun.

Cheers, Dennis.

Thanks Dennis, that's really helpful. I'm gonna go do that GI search right now...
I think i may have a repro hoth trooper cape too (as well as an original). Should help me check the authenticity of the one that's coming. I have already bought one of those repro kits with dozens of weapons/accessories etc that i use for identification only.
Cheers again.

EDIT: Didn't have a repro of that cape. Every other one but that.
I also could only find a red version of the YPS gun in a q-force action force weapons pack.
