Your thoughts on your collection

It looked like we'd be moving house earlier this year which would've been great as it'd have given me room to display my SW collection. However that fell through, so I'm in the middle of a clearout of stuff to make more room to display my collection. I currently have my first 12 display stand and 45-back Cloud Car Pilot MOC out on display in my 'computer room'. I always pop in to see them each morning as they put a smile on my face.

I usually go in to the collection room when I get in from work. I usually spend about an hour or so in there rearranging things and generally decompressing from what is often is a tough and stressful work day.

Yep I stick my head in the spare room and have a look at my small display most mornings! I don't have space to display most of it but you need to have at least something on display.

Shelves have the Star Wars collection on them.
Drawers underneath have my socks and stuff in them.

So unless I go out without me socks I get to see the collection every day :D

Our spare room has my collection and computer in so anytime I'm on here posting I'm surrounded by my childhood toys :D
Used to listen to SW podcasts on my mob but now I always make time to sit down and enjoy them in here so if anything I have is mentioned I can go pick it up and just enjoy looking at it/remember playing with it back in the day :D

most of mine is in cardboard boxes stored away. which is sad  . i dont have the room to display it. i do have a small display shelf in the living room which has vintage stuff on which has a quarterly rotation. i do how ever every few months have a dig round whats in storage too see what ive got which brings a smile to my face :)

When we were in the UK I had a whole room in the last house we had - it was pretty much packed out and not really a 'display' but it had an amazing smell of vintage mustiness and I would pop my head around almost every day

Since we have moved out here then I have sorted a little bit more out but will be packing that up in the coming month as we move yet again (down to Florida) - however I have a room again in the new place so will do more to get a proper display - and then one day I want one of those 'man caves'

One of the local guys has invited me around to his place a few times and his collection is immense - he has a great set up with couches and a TV and I could honestly spend days down there relaxing surrounded by all that vintage goodness

All my collection vintage and modern was crammed in a box room, but I recently had my loft bordered and lighting added, which gave me chance to sort out, redecorate my room, now all my modern are in the loft, my vintage mocs, loose are on display with detolf cabinets, I have added a tv and ps3 to the room with a small sofa from ikea. I can now sit in there watch star wars and enjoy my vintage all at the ssme time :)

I'm in the fortunate position that I have a home office which is the perfect excuse to have a nice vintage display. Have to admit it's a bit of a distraction at times as I find myself staring at it when I should be working but not so much now that I'm not currently collecting.

When I was in collecting mode it was a huge distraction as I't be a constant reminder to do a quick Ebay search or browse the form sales threads for items I really, really ( but didn't really ) needed.

All the things i read here sounds so familiar... Last year we moved from a house to a 3 bedroom flat. I have convinced the misses that i could have my entire music collection in the living room. It's mostly vinyl, with some cd shelves on top. Those shelves have been getting filled with new loosies i bought here, so its star wars taking over :D . I also have a little endor scene set up just above my pc desk, so i can stare at them while i am behind the computer.

The few (childhood) vehicles i have are in my sons room on display. The rest of my loose collection (mostly childhood again) is getting completed and upgraded slowly. I sorted them out in flat divided curver boxes, and i tend to take 'em out every day to look at them. Boys will be boys i guess. :D
One day i hope to move into a bigger house and have an entire room as a music studio with a nice display for vintage toys...
