Hi guys ,

Bit of a random one , every morning just before I leave to go to work , I stick my head in and have a wee look at my Star Wars collection , then off to work with feelings of nostalgia and happy times .

Does anyone do something similar ?

My collection is currently in storage mostly, but I have one display case with a few new things that I've picked up since moving. Can't say I do it every day before work, but I do spend time just looking at it. For me, often the best part of the memory is how I got each item in my collection - especially when there has been quite a process or journey.

Cheers
Pat

My collection is quite small, I only have about half of the loose figures and a couple of small vehicles so it fits nicely in a small display cabinet......and I do exactly that every morning, a quick glance, rearrange a couple of figures and then out the door!

I do exactly this, and even more often i wonder in and have a two minute study every time i brush my teeth

Not quite every day seeing as I've had to move my collection into the loft but certainly 3 or 4 times a week I'm up there. Just waiting till one of the kids buggers off so I can reclaim my star wars room    I love just sitting up there, rearranging, looking, reminiscing :D

Not in the morning cos I go to work early doors. I do often get in from work though, make a cuppa and go in and have a butchers at everything. My computer is right next to the collection so I quite like hanging out in there doing stuff and being near it. It makes me happy. For me there would be no point collecting if it wasn't all out and I didn't live with it all the time.

I'm in my infancy in collecting terms but I do like just looking at my collection, mainly just before going to bed. That said its in the back room along with the dinner table so it will ba pride of place for Christmas day.
As well as being early days I have had a slight change in collecting priorities from whatever I could afford to move the collection on as fast as possible to specifically the figures and vehicles I had as a child, or those I wad most envious of from my friends collections. All adds to the nostalgia which I guess is why most of us started down this very same, yet intricately different path.

 I do this! Always have a quick peek before I leave for work and also before I go to bed. Love the cardboardy smell from the boxed items as well when I go in the room 8)

My collection is part of me :D everytime i look at it it takes me back. My collection is in the loft room but there is something SW in every room

All my MOC's are on two walls which I walk past between my bedroom and kitchen so I get to see them all the time. Bulk of boxed collection is stuffed in the loft.

Well my collection is not with me but at my parents house set up nice in my old bedroom 8)
Quite fitting as that was where I grew up and played with my SW toys :D So Clearly I look forward to going to c my parents

Seriously though it's wonderful escapism to go to my old room and check out my collection when ever I am home.
I have a collector mate who comes round regularly and we spend the eve in my old room talking vintage SW :)
Hell even Mr 'Sith Smith' has been known to come round to c the old collection from time to time

Great storys guys! i recently moved all my stuff into the small box room,(my daughters old bedroom) i have a reclining chair in there and often just go and sit in the room and check it all out, i love it

Mine's in the attic and I usually pop up there every night after putting my daughter to bed. Sometimes I just stand there surveying the scene and wondering what to look at or 'fondle'. Other times I know exactly what I want to 'play' with. Can easliy spend 20 minutes without realising before snapping out of it and getting on with my usual household chores. I don't tend to work on Fridays so as a guilty pleasure sometimes I go up and spend a whole morning with the blinds and windows open listening to the outside world coming in and enjoying past memories... moments to cherish.

It's currently in storage but when i had my collection set up in the attic I would be up there perhaps a couple of times a week.

This evening my stepfather was asking if I ever managed to pick up a Blue Snag. He bought me the Sansweet book when it came out all those years ago and remembered that the Blue Snag was obviously something a bit special. So I dug it out along with some other bits. He's a book collector and totally gets fluctuations in value. Wasn't surprised one bit to hear current prices.

The house I bought had bookcases throughout the bedroom. As such when I wake up my whole room is surrounded by mine and my wifes hobby stuff, books etc. So one portion has the Star Wars figures on display, so yes I indeed wake up, see my display which reminds me of simpler times as a kid, and off and away I go.

Some more great stories guys ,

In this life at 100 miles an hour , it's good to have a bit of escapism :D , and also remember simpler times :D
