I'm not convinced it's a collector who knows edd who did it and here's why:-
From the picture we can see all the MOC's on the bottom shelves are gone and the top shelves look undisturbed. A duvet cover was used to take them. The burglar stopped when it was full is all, and started with the ones which were easier to reach on the lower shelves. If someone was stealing the luke bespin focus, wouldn't the popy have gone too? They also took vinyl records. Why would a collector nick those?
I've ben burglared twice. On the second occasion, a lot of stuff went. The burglars made use of items in the house to assist with burglary. i.e. they don't get caught with lots of empty bags etc, gloves on the way to the place they are going to rob. Which is what happened here with the use of the duvet cover.
And look at this from a collector's point of view. They are going to risk life and liberty for a collection they know they are never going to be able to show another collector or sell because of the one of a kind nature of the stuff they are nicking. And they've never robbed before. It doesn't make sense. Paranoia would say it's someone who knows you.
Occam's razor, the simplest explanation is probably the right one. Teenage burglar(s) with a track record for burgalry, one who knows someone he can shift records and old vintage toys too (he's knows enough to know they're valuable.) for a bit of cash. They don't don't want to be storing stolen goods in case the police raid them. Or maybe they have a lock up and a business of selling stolen goods on ebay.
That's where I'd be looking. ebay and/or dodgy geezers who buy stolen stuff from known burglars.
