Yellow bubble 12 back

I know all bubbles can yellow, but certain era are more prone to it then others.
For example ROTJ and POTF its hard to find certain figures with a clear bubble (a yellowed bubble here is accepted as a standard flaw). Whilst SW and trilogo carded figures almost Always have clear bubbles and yellowed ones are exceptional (so to say) here.

Now i have seen and owned yellow bubble 12backs, and then they are tinted (like slightly tinted). Having noticed this 12 Back R2 recently, just made me wonder... That the darkest yellow bubble i ever saw on a SW Card. (Not talking ESB ,ROTJ, POTF). To bad as the Card and bubble look otherwise mint. Nice unpunched Card, but piss yellow bubble.

Have you ever seen such yellow bubble On SW Card before?

Don't remember ever seeing one on a 12 back before - makes you wonder where this one was stored

I had a B-Wing Pilot a little while ago that almost had a chocolate coloured bubble - no -one would buy it so in the end I gave it to Tim for his focus :lol:

Yes I remember that thread - all it did was make me think how utterly stupid people are to be paying so much money for many carded figures. There are 7,000 GRADED 12 backs. So we can safely assume there must be at least double, triple, possibly more ungraded ones. Yet people still pay hundreds/thousands of pounds for them because they are 'rare'? Give me a break :lol:

That's THE most yellow 12 Back bubble Iv ever seen for sure. Probably was exposed to some extreme heat rather then lots of sun because the cardback colours aren't TOO bad.

Edd, i don't think people pay those prices based on rarity, but i kinda more the nostalgic reason and for any collector the 12Backs are the icon set of the Star wars line.

People pay for demand vs availibility/popularity. With demand and populartity playing a big role here, for example:

the AFA reports shows that only 87 Large head Han 12 backs are graded, whilst there are 590 Small head Han 12 backs graded.
There are even 223 Vinyl Cape Jawa 12 Back's graded.

Going by this numbers, the Large head Han variation is twice (almost 3 times) as rare as an Vinyl Cape Jawa variation on 12 Back, but still people pay thousands for a Vinyl Cape Jawa, whilst nobody actually cares about the Large head Han.... Its not always whats rarer that's more expensive, but whats more desired by collectors.

Also the prices shown lately are mostly so high because of people shill bidding their own auctions. Ofcourse prices have risen with the new upcoming movies, but not so much as appearance may show i think.

I have been toying with the idea to put my full set of 20 Moc's (all 12 Backs with my 6 other SW Moc's and 2 ESB) up for sale for a BIN (equal to 7750 GBP), as i would believe they will not sell even with the prices we see now... but then again i think what if someone hits the BIN... :?
