crazy prices

i asked the seller about the bobba and he couldnt confirm it was original either

Without provenence or examination by Tom Derby (for example) how can people pay that much based on the pictures

I don't know much about the L/J Slot fetts but weren't the J slots the one closest to production and more likely to be painted :?:

53 Figures at £4 each would be £212 so it's about right for the lot, as they do look in good condition, can't see it pushing more than 220 unless some new buyers get into a war!

As for the boba....rolling my eyes ;)

The Boba is a joke, someone is either very rich or very dim.
Ok, OR they have spotted a genuine one (but from those photos!?).

Say for example a complete loose collection depending on condition reaches anywhere between £700 and £1,000 Odd.
There is a half collection of mint figures here, yes the easy ones to find but still cant grumble at £4-5 pound a figure!

I do like a bargain tho ;) so I would keep looking lol

AGREED!
I just wouldn't gamble or spend that amount of money on what is probably just a custom lol.

Besides without any proper history on that piece, and knowing they didn't originate in England what explanation would the seller have for having that piece !
LOL

Unless his Great uncle worked on the production and development team at kenner and when he left the job he took this with him to Somerset as a momento of his time at the company and passed it on to his nephew who uses eBay !

Even when I started looking at collecting I would never have fallen for that!
You can get these knocked up for 30-40 quid ...IF... you really wanted to have one for show!

If you are new to collecting then surely :
1.) You wouldn't know enough about rare figures to think this was anything special and bid this high...
2.) If you had got over the "newbie" stage and had actually read some articles/info on the rocket fett, I am more than sure unless you only read what you wanted to (i.e the rare and valuable bit) you would have seen that only a handful were made and that this type of thing just doesn't get found everyday!

Even if they knew it was a custom, **** sakes £200! There was a guy on ebay who used to knock them out for £40 like I said.

Anyways...doh!

Here's a real L Slot Fett. It shows no COO or date markings on the legs (as you would expect for the early test shot/proto) http://theswca.com/images-unpro/rocketfett-lslot.html

The thing is, if you type Rocket Fett or similar into google this information is readily apparent. Its not held by some secret society or something
