WTB the original 12 figures on ESB cards - Advice please!!

Hi guys,

Not bought any MOC for a few years, I've set myself up with a nice little focus idea. I want to buy the first 12 figures on Empire cards. Can be any back, offers or offerless I don't care. Big head Han's fine, and lastly ungraded as I'm just not into having figures I can't take out and touch!!

Has anyone deliberately put a set together like this? I'm wondering how much I should set as a budget, and what figures are likely to cost the most. Also I was looking on ebay last night and it seems to be harder than ever to get ungraded stuff. Has the price of graded figures affected this? And boy do some of the prices vary hugely!! Han seemed to range from £100 to £500!!!

I put together a set of the first 12 on SW 12 back cards last year, and it cost me roughly £1500. I think you will be able to do them on ESB cards for well under £1000, in nice ungraded condition too. I think you could probably get most of them apart from Luke for under £100 on a good day. He will cost you more like £150, and will probably be the most expensive.

I think Leia will be pretty expensive too. That figure always costs top dollar on any card. NOt sure when i last saw her on ESB either... :?

I think I got my Leia for £90 from Hayd's sales thread a while back. Luke does seem to be pretty rare but the rest should be easier - worth keeping an eye on the RS sales threads I reckon

Oh and Liam can do a bloody good job of finding them for you too

Otherwise know as Dark Sith Lord - Liam is a bit of an expert at scanning across all of the forums out there and even ebay and then coming back with items on your wish list - at the moment his services are free

Theres a gorgeous Chewie on ebay right now, but the seller had it up at £300 before!! Unsold of course.

Any ideas of what to pay top end for a nice Chewie and Ben?

Never bought form him personally but I know a few on here have done and his items really are top draw. He can be a bit "short" in his replies and he will not budge on prices but apart from that you will be onto a winner with his stuff

I've gotten really good at hiding things around the house from the wife!

Luckily I've got half of the first 12 on other cards, so I'm selling my doubles to a mate. It's hard to justify the cost otherwise. I love Star Wars, I mean really really really :lol:
