Hi

Since getting my childhood Star Wars collection out of storage in the Summer I have completely failed to find any suitable display cases.

Please can you help with suggestions, other people must have gone through the same process

I want to get them on display, before i start spending cash on completing the collection.

Proper cabinets seem to cost mega money & i'm worried about light fading my collection if i use cheaper glass cabinets.

Ideally i want a narrow wall mount cabinet for the loose collection (One of each figure, plus a couple of variants).

Then some bigger units to display the at at, millenium falcon, b wing etc

Do you have something suitable for sale or any suggestions.

What has worked for you guys?

It is starting to piss me off not seeing the stuff now i have brought it all home!

Thanks

Paul

Check out Jez's collection - he has some cracking IKEA Detolf Cases - Joe has one as well

There was a superb link at one point over at RS regarding display cabinets, pretty much everything from Ikea Detolf through to huge display cabinets........ Been trying to find it for ages, cant find it anywhere, maybe behind the couch?

If anyone can post a link please that be superb.

Cheers.

Just to chime in, I bought a Detolf yesterday after reading some threads and I'm really pleased with it. £40 is a really good price and it has so far been child proof (the little one can't work out how to get into it).

And I don't know why it is, but glass makes even a creased card look amazing and museum like!

I'm lazy. Anyone got a link to this cabinet?

The detolf is such a nice cabinet for the money my wife even paid the shipping price (£35) on it and I still think the combined price was cheap, great cabinet for loose/MOC.

The Billy case is another one that is pretty awesome and is cheap too, its a bookshelf by Ikea but doors can be added I believe.

Your not helping me here Joe!

haha sorry - I fully endorse Bram's products of course, you wouldn't want that Ikea crap! Listen to my testimonial and buy one of his cases...especially if it means I get one free of charge for advertising! :D

Thanks, I had checked out the limelight selection & the deltof's, but until seeing Jez's collection i had no idea they could look so good with loose stuff. I was thinking of a narrow cabinet just for figures and different ones for ships and mini rigs, but mixing it up a bit looks great!

Ill get in touch with Jez to ask where he got the deltof with 6/7 shelves from as I haven't come across any of these. Ill also want to ask about potential light damage from the sun as they are glass rather than Acrylic.

Once i've got some cabinets I'll be speaking to you again about replacing my missing weapons and figures!

Thanks to everyone wwho has replied.

I had seen your posts and designs, but i'm crap at visualising things without the actual figures in etc. Do you have any pics of them in use? & rough ideas of price to display an entire loose collection?

Although now I've seen the deltof's in 'action' i may go down this route

Thanks

Paul

The deltofs are £40 for an ikea. The steps are being sold as acrylic risers from a member on here. There is a thread in the vintage chat section, probably on page 2.

Here's a link to the acrylic display steps for the Detolf: http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13064

Very tempted to grab some of these, but still working out how I want to display my figures in the cabinet. I am very much more a fan of making scenes with my figures rather than having them in a uniform line! Argh the dilemma!

Was it this one that I started some time ago?
