Would you swap your collection for a screen used prop?

Looks like you'd still need to source a dish, some things never change

Well spotted, didn't notice that. Just get a saucer out your Nan's cupboard and paint it up! :D

Is she upside down?
Even better spot!

Looks like Andy and myself need to be heading over to Specsavers pronto

Vintage toys all the way for me too :) They have much more sentimental attachment for me (even the vintage I've bought recently). And props are generally a pain to look after.

When ever I look at my collection the golden childhood memories come flooding back to me :!: That's what it is all about :D

Toys for me, all the way 8)

Feck! Didn't even notice - the cockpit's on the wrong side..! :p

Mwahahaha, call yourself a SW fan.

  The worst thing is that dude they have in the picture is no more than 2 feet away from the Falcon! And he let it go ahead and have the picture get taken!
To be honest guys I am slightly obsessed with the Falcon because it was the only ship I ever owned :)
So that was all I was focused on in the picture that's how I spotted her upside down :)

But on a more serious note imagine having that R2 or Falcon at home

I mean no disrespect to prop collectors, and sure it would be nice to own a prop or two, but I didn't own any props as a boy. I owned toys :-D

I'd be happy to swap If it was something recognisable, but not just some shoe panel from a random stormtrooper, some Tatooine sand or ewok fur like previously said. Obviously lightsabres, clothes, helmets are out of the question but something like the torch Yoda and R2 fight over, or the device jawa's use to freeze R2.

The figures without the film would mean nothing and memories of both go hand in hand. To own a one of a kind prop that I and everyone who watches recognises and remembers would be worth it. Just like a lot of collecting, it's down to rarity. Saying that, I do have quite a humble collection which is worth only a fraction of some members collections so am maybe not in so deep to get out.

It's all about the toys for me, I don't collect much else SW related at all.

Toys for me too - definitely over an outfit or something like that. Luke's farmboy dirty jeans sold for a around $15/$20k a few years ago and I really don't see the appeal.

But - if the models used for the ships came up for swap, an X-Wing, TIE or that upside Falcon I could be really tempted. A screen used R2 or 3PO would be alright too

Nope, my collection and the memories I have made collecting everything is much more meaningful to me than having one prop from the movies. Having a prop would be very cool, but my childhood memories of the toys is what got me started collecting in the first place. I do understand why some people would prefer a nice prop, but I think most collectors would prefer to have a big collection vs. one thing.

Funnily enough, try to come along to the Celebration Europe Prop collecting panel that I'm hosting and I'll tell a little story about these that may make you change your mind.... :)
