Will the UK leave the EU ?

I think the campaigns of both sides were awful and played on fears and negative aspects of the opposition rather than showing the benefits of either choice. But that's standard election politics!
Ed, I think your predictions are probably right but with today's result we have the opportunity to do things differently to before and hopefully make the country a better place.
An uncertain future isn't someting to fear it's something to be excited about.

Maybe in time things will get better, but for the immediate future, I see little change for the positive about to happen. I posted this on my Facebook this morning.

Is it ironic that on a day being touted as Independence Day in the UK just happens to come on the exact same day as a movie with the same name getting released, where Independence Day signals mass destruction of the entire world?

Yes I noticed the terrible coincidence too, have been looking forward to this film for months but I think watching it today would leave a sour taste in my mouth.

My observation of the day from people I have spoken with.

Everyone (without exception) who voted remain are crestfallen.

Some (not all) of those who voted leave are starting to feel quite scared of an uncertain future.

Reality bites.

One observation I'll throw out there.

My Facebook news feed is split almost exactly down the middle. Those with degrees are distraught/disgusted/pissed off. Those without are delighted/happy/relieved.

I dunno why this is the case, there are a few very different ideas floating about in my head, but there is a very clear split on my Bakebook feed.
Maybe it's just me.

I keep my FB numbers to just family and a few choice friends. So only have 59 friends. I however have nearly 3300 Twitter followers. I want Facebook to be light and friendly, and Twitter, the same to an extent, but somewhere I can swear more and have a moan.

I'm not saying whether I voted in, out, or at all.

There's one person on my Facebook who has always been outspoken in the 15 odd years I've known them. They are plastering FB with images of Winston Churchill, UKIP, "vote out" etc. At most they are getting one or two likes, from 363 friends, no comments. A few people have subtly hinted they are disappointed we're out. I think people are just not wanting to fall out, so not really let rip on there.

I won't discuss my "views" on here or on my social media, as the only result will be falling out, and at the end of the day, they are just that, views.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, and whether the leave people will be eating some serious humble pie if the predicted downsides of a leave actually happen.

By the way there will be no immigrants kicked out. Immigration into the UK will still exist from EU countries and Non EU countries. Sorry, but you have voted to leave the EU. You have not voted the BNP into power.

That is what is hilarious about the victory reactions as they think a wall will be built and immigration will be 0. In reality it won't change much and the lower numbers of migrant workers from the EU will more than likely allow more "darkies" from outside of the EU to move here.

I await with glee a front page reporting companies relocating or closing down due to Brexit and stories of working class bell ends ruing their leave vote on xenophobia alone.

Of course, but with the likes of Skywalkers comments, you can hardly blame us. For many it was the one and only issue which annoys those who are smart enough to weigh up all the pros and cons.

Personally I don't think it is fair to leave on such a small majority. Farage and the rest will say the British have spoken, but it's hardly a resounding victory when half of the population do not want to leave. It's so close I'd wager it would go the other way if there were another vote tomorrow.

I can tell on other forums that some of those who voted leave are already regretting it.
